hi guys, my car has been having problems idling and on my pms screen it shows that my maf meters are at .85+ at idle, normally around .9. I tried my other maf meter and it was a little better but never got anywhere close to .6 One maf meter was a c and l 76mm calibrated for 24's and the other was a 75mm pro m calibrated for 24's.

any ideas????

thanks

Drew

The Code 66 MAF voltages I posted are approximate values for a stock system. They may not be correct for a system with 24lb injectors and a matching MAF.

The important thing is that the MAF does not hit 4.9 volts before you hit the engine RPM redline. If it does, then your max rpm fuel mixture will be lean.

For best results on your problems, make only one post per problem. I can't recall what lead you to question the MAF idle voltages, so I can't offer any other suggestions to fix your orginal problem.

It is a good idea to use the sig under the user control panel (User CP) option. It allows you to post your car year & mods, which help greatly when troubleshooting things. Be a good stangnetter and update you sig for future reference & don't keep us guessing.

Does the car surge? If not, don't worry about it. If it does, pull out some idle fuel.

ah, a fellow pms user. Yeah i tried taking out and adding 10 percent idle fuel. Gary said not to mess with idle fuel at all because the computer has a hard time working around the changes. Anyway, -10 the car shuddered and jumped to 18-20:1 and with +10 is started surging until it died, lol. What does your pms read for the maf load value at idle. The reason I brought this all up is because with one of my meters (c&l,) it constantly stays in "1" but with my pro m it will bounce back and forth at idle from L to 1.

I think it reads around .7v at idle. You just gotta play with it until its right. Cold idle a/f will be leaner. It will richen up as it warms up. If -10 was too lean, try -6 and see.
