I like the price/sound/quality of the Magnaflow cat-back, but I really don't like the tips it comes with. I was wondering if anyone out there had used different tips? Magnaflow's website (http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/tips/truck.htm) has tips that look like they would be a direct swap w/o welding or anything, other than the fact that they don't have the hanger attachment... I'm looking at the 45 degree 'slash-cut' tips... I want it to look closer to stock.

Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated!

I just did MagnaFlows on my GT. As a matter of fact, I did them today.

Tips were the hardest to figure out. After a month of changing my mind I went with the 4" Magnaflow rolled slash cut 18" tip. Absolutely, without a doubt a BAD MO FO'! But,they may be to big for me. I'm going to look at em' for a while and let the new shock value wear off before I make up my mind. Not at all "Ricey"... They're just big. Fills the cut-out almost perfect. But, they're real big!

If I change them, I won't go smaller than 3". 3.5" might be enough.

I have some great pics of my set up. E-mail me and I'll send them to ya'. Having trouble with the size of the pic on here.

If you like the stock 45 degree 3.0" tips, you could always get the FRPP catback like I did. Having said that, I've seen the Magnaflow tips in person and on 99+ as well as '96-'98 models and IMO, look great on the 99+ as 01GT eibach said, but not so hot on the '96-'98 as the tips are more exposed from the side. The 3.5"s fill out the cutouts really well, but everyones taste is different.
