Mail order tires/wheels

Has anyone ordered tires over the internet; Tire Rack, Tires.com ? Any problems?

I ordered from discounttiresdirect.com. Great experience, no problems. I got me a set of Nitto 450 Extremes.

I have also ordered from mustangtuning.com. Again, great folks to deal with. My shipping was free with them too :)

Don't fear mail-order, it ain't all that bad if it's from a reputable place.

I always order my tires, tire shops will try and tell you that the tires on the net are defective and thats why they are cheaper. They are liars, the tires are cheaper because they buy more at a time. Never had a problem with mail order tires. All tires are shipped one way or another.

I ordered wheels and tires over the internet and had no problems...

Prices are generally cheaper than retailers and living in a big city, I got delivery easy to my work place...

These vendors that sell over the internet run million dollar business and have worked out all the problems so the buyer has none...

Look to find the best price including shipping charges because they can really change the price of the purchase...

Good Luck, Dave

I have ordered several different sets of tires and wheel/tire combos from discount tire direct. They have excellent prices and the tires and wheels are top notch.

I ordered tires for my truck a while back. Bought 4 steel rims to go with the tires, cost was $860, free shipping if you got the rims. Local shop wanted almost $200 per tire plus mounting/balancing. The tires were great, not seconds.

Luckily I live near a Discount Tire franchise. I was able to get my tires at the same cost as ordering them online. Most chain tires shops will lower their prices if you haggle with them. The nice thing about buying locally is if I need to get a tire replaced using the road hazzard I bought.

JM2005,

Is your car lowered? it looks awesome. I am thinking of those cobra r from mustang tuning as well. I figure if I lower it, the 255/50/17 tires will provide a little more cushion going down the road. How are those for road feel/vibration?

Thanks

Sam

got my tires from tirerack.com in 2 days, and that was just ground shipping. highly recommended. i ordered my wheels from someone else the day before, and the tires beat the wheels by a day.
