What all would I need to do? Take out the plastic piece at the front of the scoop, then cut a hole in the hood and then make the aircleaner seal to the hood when ever its closed? (thinking of 1st gen ram air trans ams and 69ish gto judges with ram air. ) I cant find any aftermarket hoods for 79 mustangs and I really dont want to spend the money on one. soo any help is appreciated

I am thinking of that kind of idea but having the airbreather attached to the carb then just a hole to clear the breather......as opposed to something that is sealed only when the hood is closed. The image I have is quite simple in theory but I don't know if it will end up so simple. I must have seen a picture of what I am thinking it seems quite fresh in my memory, yes you can do this and there are many possibilities, even with steel boxes already fabbed can be adapted easily....cookie tins....whatever.
