There really should be no need at all to pull the STB. Perhaps a little stool would help you see down in there to see what you are doing. Once you snake your hand down there, it comes out with no fuss.

UPDATE:

Well I finished making the bracket. Thanks for helping JT! I've got everything I need now .... just need to put it in the car. Here's a couple of pics. I've also polished up my bracket real nice & straightened the screws up since these pics ......

Justin, that looks perty. You did a nice job with the bracket too (I dont even have hose clamps on mine - I can barely get the lines off those stupid barbs).

Let's see some installed pics when you get it in, and if you think of it, let us (or PM me) with what kind of accumulation you get in a given milage.

No, that's a good write up... Just more to the effect that such a minor mod has been explained to death. I thought it was pretty self explainitory ... I'm just bein' a dumb-a$$

Jinx, on a similar note, have we not had like 100 threads, all 2 pages each, about adjusting the gas pedal.

I know we like to jab eachother but here is why I reply to those types of questions.
One reason I chose this forum to do a little bit of posting is that I feel that it is nurturing (that is the only time I hope to use that word for awhile now). But it is - folks feel comfy asking simple questions like that without being flamed. In other forums, this is not quite the case, often times.

So the newer guys or guys with questions might not feel comfortable asking a simple question. And it is much better to ask a simple question than to NOT ask a simple question and create a FUBAR situation.

As some of you know, I like to not only know how things work, but why. And when folks ask simpler questions, I can appreciate and assume they are doing the same thing (I am not one to do something without understanding as many of its dynamics as I can).

Besides, sometimes some of the stupid simple question threads turn in to long threads that went off on tangents, and they can have some gems in them.

Oh no man, no reason to feel like that. My only point was that I dont mind going over something I did if it helps or reinforces a method on a procedure that someone is going to do.

Aight .... I finally got it installed and analyzed the result. I'm pretty sure not many will believe this .... but my car RUNS BETTER! No kidding. This is one of those things that I wish I would have done a long time ago.

Here's my deal. My car always comes up 1 quart low on oil just before my regular oil changes (3K). I never knew where it was going .... but I knew it wasn't smoking & I didn't see any leaks. Now I know. I've only driven it for about 10 miles since I put this thing on ..... I have already collected 1/8" of oil in the tube. I hope it improves from the 12-14 MPG I was getting, too ..... I'm sure it will. I guess all that oil that was running through the intake & to my chambers was really hurting the performance.

If you have oil "missing" .... and you don't know where it's going .... I highly recommend doing this.

Good deal...I got the same results, glad someone else seen the same thing, thought I was tripping there for abit.......My MPG picked up right off the bat, you'll gain 3-4 anyway....I saved the cost in gas....
bout 500-700mi and mines ready to empty...
When I swapped uppers last week, first thing I noticed is no oily runners...
She's not running 2 stroke mix anymore...

What are you guys using if you're running syn oil? The only filter that I can find is at Home Depot and it specifically states not for use with synthetic oil. I tried it anyways and it only worked for what I am guessing is the first run. I collected about 1/4" of oil the first time out and then not another drop in six months after that.

ya am i scrued cause i run synthetic? should i go back to normal oil?
