making my car quieter what to buy?

Magnaflow catback will help you out-

A quieter Flowmaster is a more restrivtive Flowmaster which will make you loose hp-

The Magnaflow is straight through-

Also- check into having some universal Magnaflows welded into your existing system for an even further cost savings since you all ready have the bigger piping-

You can get a couple of unpolished stainless Maganflows pretty cheap- add in the off road X pipe (cheaper then catted)

and you will have a quieter car with alot more power

my .02 is go with a less drone oriented exhaust. Catted midpipe will still require mils meaning you will fail odbII emissions testing by letter of the law. Catted midepipes are expensive as well.

any strait through muffler should drone less than a chambered muffer but most aftermarket muffler will drone. bassani and magnaflow will let you screw resontors in the tips to knock down the drone

you could try the FRPP catback if you want no done but it might be a tad quite.

I hate what cats do to the sound of the exhaust so I alwasy just pick a muffler I like and run it.

I have had a crapload of flows over the years and no longer like them at all. there 50 series drone alot less and you will not notice any power loss IMO they still flow roughly the same cfm there are just 3 chambers instead of 2. they drone alot less. borla, magnaflow, bassani, etc all the stait throughs will out flow the flows though.

I really like borla with an off road pipe. they just sound great. to quite with cats but they are such a cut above flowmaster it is not even funny. I have had both flows and borla on my IROC and my stang and the borla is just a better sound. more money but less drone, better flow, better sound. flows sound fine at the track but at mid thottle on a driver there is just a ton of extra noise I get sick of hearing. I have a spintech on my IROC right now and it is the same way. sounds wicked wide open but at 2300rpm there is this crappy resonace. should have tried bassani even though it was ton of money.

I recall having drone from the showroom floor. I now have a Mac o/r H and Dynomax Super Turbos. It is not quiet and it is not loud if that makes sense. Most of the time I wish it were a little louder but if nothing else, it sounds great! You could easily have your mufflers cut out and these welded in. It was $145 to have mine done--mufflers, cut-out, and install total!
