I believe it's a red plastic so there's no removing the color. Tail lights are supposed to be red....you ever see a clear lensed stop light?

the plastic is red, you cannot die it or make it clear, The clear tailights are for off road ONLY.. you will get a ticket for them even with the red bulb in them, they are supposed to be red and reflective..

Actually I have, but I know what you're saying. Yes they are red plastic and no, there is no way to make stock lenses clear.

P.S.: the clear stop lights have a bunch of high intensity LEDs in them. The LED's epoxy case is clear, but the semiconductor inside emits only a certain wavelength of red light.....most likely around 660nm.

some taillights are clear with a red layer inside the lens....I now a guy who cut the taillights apart on his (I'm guessing the year) 97 Intrepid and took the red out and made them clear...trunk light and all. He said he would do this on my 95 mustang but I told him no thanks it's not a import lol
