What a blast to finally get 1/4 runs in with DT. Def took me a few runs to learn how to drive (first time on the track) and then after fixing my shifter the car ran back to back 12.5s so I am quite happy. The 275 40 17 DR gave much better performance than I expected....and didn't make a complaint when going straight....of course they rubbed everytime I need to turn onto the return road ;)

Great "lift and tuck"

Did you remove the sway bar? Looks like you've got some decent lift on the front and a nice squat to the rear.

Nice to see you times kept getting better all day. Except for the 9:40 am run when you where probably on break :D you had some good reaction times as well.

Sounds like you had a great day. The slips look really good!

Keep up the great work!

Very nice but I have to ask; shouldn't you be at least 1 second faster in the 1/4 given that you have a 408 in there?

With the power made on the dyno 2 years ago it 'should' run elevens...and I hope to see them in the spring. Couple things working against me today...I haven't tuned up the car in over 2 yrs (same plugs/wires) and I've switched carbs twice since the dyno, driving under a tractor trailer, had it rebuilt, and then just started driving it again, also run a open track suspension setup and 245s on the front. All those things slwo you down a little. It was also my very first time on the track so being a noob...I'm happy that just basically pointing and shooting the car ran 12.5s

I see. BTW, I covet your car.

I think those are some pretty good runs for a noob. What did you change to go from 3 13.0 runs to 2 12.5 runs?

Shifter linkage was not adjusted so I wasn't able to manually shift the car and hold 2nd.

With the AOD...it would run up to about 6000 in 1st...and the drop into third without even stopping at second. Once I adjusted the linkage so my shifter could find the low position I was able to do the AOD shuffle...start in low to hold first...shift up to get into second and then pull it right back in the low spot to hold 2nd, then shift up to go into 3rd. Ford didn't think too long and hard about race shifting a 4 position tranny with a 3 position shifter ;)

you know they make race prepped aods :D When you wear these DRs out you going to put slicks on those wheels? I think you have the cababilities of running 11s with a little more tweeking. Do you have cal tracs? What is your current hp/torque?

Also I talked to Mickey Thompson the other day and they are coming out with a 255/60/15. Thats a 27/10/15 Thats an inch taller but 3/4 narrower....I'll probably try that one this summer when it comes out lol. By the way the 275s I have do rub on the out side fender lip a little bit when I go over bridges and speed bumps. I wish I didn't have so much bondo in those 1/4s or I'd roll the lips and I think that would help out a bunch, but I've pretty much accepted defeat on these as being "Perfect" but they are do able.

Those look like under riders to me, not cal-tracs.

I looked at your chart wrong at first glance, I was going to say seeing you MPH in the low to mid 80s sucked for a 408W, then I realised that was in the 8th...LOL.

Very very nice!

It is/was a race prepped AOD....I've broken it twice :D
I just didn't put in the Lentech Valve body with the 1-2-3 shift pattern a switch for AOD. The car is more street than strip, so working through the hokey AOD shifting and not having to 'remember' to put it into overdrive works better for me.

Last DYNO session I had 396RWHP at 6900 and 355ft/lbs at 3100 on a DynoJet

Shelby Style Underriders

I am dropping the car off shortly for the new hood :) and then I can put my Strip Dominator intake on :) and prob get a good dyno tune session in the early spring.

Rules as I understand them for those tracks employing NHRA association rules (these are the ones that were in place over the weekend):

Open car:
Helmet to race
6 point bar at 13.49 or faster

Close car:
No helmet 13.50 or slower
Helmet required at 13.49 or faster
6 point bar at 11.49 of faster

Drive shaft loop required at 11.49
Catch can for radiator
No leaking fluids

To answer the question...no; there is no bar in the car at this time. I have always planned at least a 4 point to put in some nice 3 point belts but it keeps getting bumped on the priority list. I bolted in a pair of lap belts so I could race :)

haha yeah, I dont have the possibility of being anywhere as fast as your car, so all i need is a helmet..so you think if you go, line up in the slow lane next to a ricer and blast an 11.2 they will be surprised  and then they kick you out...hmmm seems worth it to me :Word:
