It's called a "Lentech" AOD. Nice car!

All AODs do the former for driving, but for racing you want more control over the shifts. The problem with the latter is that the early factory shifter is PRNDL and latter classics are PRND21, both are short a gear or two for manually shifting the 4-speed. Lentech has a work around for that and all you need is their valve-body.
