Manual brakes, anyone running them?

Anyone switch to manual brakes? I'm looking at the Maximum kit for my 86 road racer.

The booster eliminator kit makes stopping hard...unless you go with an aftermarket master cyl i would not recomend it for driving around the street.

My plan is LSC rear end, SN95 front disks, 85 Town Car master cylinder, Summit proportioning valve, MM manual brake kit.

Why do you want manual brakes for? WHy not just run a booster?

Stock good condition breaks, SS lines, 88 chrysler minivan mastercylinder with the largest bore, moved the piviot point higher on the mastercylinder. All new lines bent.

My brakes stink! I have a problem with my rears grabbing. I dont know why. Unless you get a complete engineered race package, I say dont do it.

Better pedal control, no vacuum = more consistent pedal feel. The 85 TC m/c is the same as the SVO but has the correct threads so adapters are needed.

Downside is the brakes will suck. The bore in the SVO M/C is still not large enough. The '85 TC is a 1" bore while the SVO is 1 1/16" or something slightly over 1". Not large enough for manual brakes really.

You will need an MC never really used on a Ford car.
