i have an '86 auto notchback lx that was a 4 cyl. bought it with a '91 5.0 motor in it. i have an 89-93 wiring harness and a a9p computer. i have heard many different things about the dash board being a problem. will my wiring harness and computer combo work with this conversion? will my harness plug right in the dash wiring?

There is no 89-93 harness. Harnesses are year specific. Has your dash been changed to aero style? If its still the 4 eye dash you need an 89 or 88 cali engine harness to make it work with your dash harness.

All the harnesses are year specific. You need to find out what year harness you have other than just "89-93".

My dash is still the original. I doubt that the harness I have is ca. Harness. Is it possible for this one to work or is just worth it to get a new one

I don't know what yr the harness is either. It was with it in the trunk

The 1986 dash harness "might" work with a 1989 engine harness...but that's a maybe.

That's the only year that has a chance of working...1989 only.


Another solution if you can fond a 1986 v8 engine harness

Post up pics of your harness. Maybe someone here can id it. If you are truly lucky you will have an 89 harness and its pretty much plug and play.
