Mass Air Flow Problems

Okay I tried to replace the mass air flow system on my son's 04 with a KN air flow system. however when the it is installed it make a horrible dry grinding sound every time you start it and then when are just driving down the street going about 35MPH in 4th gear it starts to make that sound again.

Any Ideas what it might be? To much airflow and then the mass air meter shuts it down?

Once we go back the the stock air flow system everything is fine....

Check to make sure the metal tubing is not too close to the shock tower. Mine would hit it everytime I started it up and then every once in a while at idle. If the engine vibrates just right it will start to hit against the shock tower. Try adjusting that to elimate it.

go buy some electrical contact cleaner from your local autoparts store, the senor may have gotten dirty fromt he oil used in the K&N
