i just bought an 86 notch and i'm converting it to efi. Now can i use a mass air harness out of a 91, or only out of an 89? I am pretty sure there are 2 plugs from a 91 harness that connect to 2 plugs from the dash harness, and that in 89 there is only 1 plug for each to get power to the harness....can anyone verify this or am i crazy lol thanks

The harness is different almost every year.

87-88 are the same
89 is same as 87/88 but with MAF wiring
90 is unique
91 and early production 92 are same
late 92 and 93 are same

Couldn't tell you about the 86, but matching the engine harness with the chassis harness turns out to be one of the biggest pain in the asses with an EFI engine swap. You could have problems with the O2 sensor sub harness as well, and as far as I can tell there are differences between the T5 and Auto cars too. Your best bet is to get everything off one car.

I used all 89 suff when I did the swap in my 83 gt. Get everything from the same year car (speaking from experience) 89 harness is the best b/c it's the only year w/ mass air and no air bags (but 88 cali models are the same but hard to find)
