Mass Air Meter Question...

Ok guys, heres the deal. Im thinking of adding a Accufab TB/Plenum combo to my car as my final mod. Im sure I will see decent gains from what I have seen on here dyno wise, but will I see more gains if I replace my stock mass air meter as well? I thought the stock would be plenty, but I also thought that about the TB, but I am probably going with the 75mm since its only like 10 bucks more than the 70mm. Plus it really pulls a lot more at higher rpms than the 70mm. I already have a BBK CAI and like how it looks. I have ran the car for hours on the hw and popped the hood and its warm, but its not as hot as what a lot of people on here say, so I dont go for all that hot chrome is robbing me power wise theory thats on here. If a larger Mass Air Meter will help, what size do I need? I want to go with Pro M Also I want it to fit the BBK piece so if anyone is running a BBK CAI with an aftermarket Mass Air Meter I would love to hear from you!!!

The Accufab Combo is an excellent choice!... I don't think you'll need to replace your MAF though... if I'm not mistaken, stock is 80mm...

Any others??? I thought I saw an article on Mustangworld or modular depot that said they picked up close to 28hp with a tb/plenum/cai/mass air meter combo. Those #'s really caught my eye . Im expecting close to 10hp from the TB/Plenum combo. You guys think thats resonable or to much? If I spend over $500 and only get like 6-8 hp out of it Im not going to be thrilled with myself even though the car will look with it.

Well 28 hp seems too good to be true. maybe they picked that much up with a dyno tune as well or the combo leaned the car out a bit. Or someone paid them some $$ to inflate the results. I mean a maf measures air coming in. that is it. the do not peg at your hp level. I dont' think a tuner would recomend a maf. The SCT guys over at MD would tell you not to waste you money. that being said I have seen supposed gains from them but the air fuel usually ****ed a bit as well.

If i was u ...I would get the 75mm Throttle body w/ the C&L instake Plenum...I hear alot of good this with THAT set up.....May not be any diffence tho......The accufab setup u want is aight to

Alright, looks like it will just be the Accufab combo and no mass air meter . That will save me a couple hundred.
Also just so you know Mr GT, a guy on here did 2 sets of dynos. One tested simply Plenum... C&L, Accufab, and Dragon Plenum with a 70mm TB to see which was better. The final one tested These same Plenums along with the Trick Flow Plenum along with a 75mm TB. The Accufab Plenum/TB combo had better results than the C&L. Both C&L and Accufab really kicked it into gear at the high rpm range which is where we need it, but the Accufab combo won out overall. I think either would be a good choise, I want to go with Accufab since I do some car shows as well and would like to have a little more bling under the hood

Yeah, no mass air meter. Those things will give you more problems then gains. It is always best to stay with Ford MAFs if you do want one, and you will not need one until you start to run a big blower.
