Hey guys I have a question. I found an ad for a C&L 80mm mass air off of a 96 Cobra, I have a 97 Cobra and have been in the market for one, the ad states its already calibrated for 24lb injectors which I have so i'm looking into buying it. My question is according to the pic it doesn't appear to have the module on the actual mass air meter.. I attached the pic below. Another question is if I just attach mine should it work fine? I would think it would need to come with the module in order to claim its already calibrated. Help pls!

I believe they changed the diameter of the sample tube to recalibrate for the 24's,(Thus bolting the stock unit into this setup would work) but I'd double check that on the manufacturers site.

Hey thanks!! Yeah I was researching and found that there are certain color coded tubes I believe for the specific injector size.. So that makes sense.. Thanks again.

Anybody else have addtl input?

Okay so i ended up buying the mass air meter and i installed it but when the car starts up it idles for a minute and you can tell the computer is trying to register the new mass air but after a sec it starts to struggle and it dies out. Supposedly it already has the 24lb sample tube, which it appears to have but why is it dying? Oh and i also smell gas like its running rich afterwards... Any ideas? I kinda thought this would be plug and play.

hey i feel your pain i have a 97 cobra i just converted over to E85 it was a tuning nightmare if you put the new mas air meeter in the car with the bigger injectors did you tune the car yet cause when i put in my 60 lbs/hr to take it to my tuner it would race up in rpm at start up and say there for a few seconds then it would die on me you might want to get the comp calibrated to the bigger injectors and the larger mass air flow meeter it sounds like its all in the tune to me cause if the comp doesn't read the stock stuff i doesn't know what to do lol

also cause the new mass air flow meeter was calibrated to the larger injectors doesn't mean your comp is calibrated to the new meeter and injectors i just re read the thread sorry i did not put that in sooner
