So i have one mustang with speed density, and one mustang with mass air. I am thinking about swapping them, and turning one of them into a speed density car, and putting the mass air stuff on the other car.

I know people have gone speed density to mass air, but can you go backwards? should I be able to just swap the parts straight across and have two running cars? I'm curious if it would work. Let me know if any of you have done anything like this.

Yes you can, you need to hack a lot of stuff though. You need the harness the PCM the intake with the MAF etc.

Dont know if the MAP sensors are the same but I would swap them just to be sure.

the map on a speed density has a hose that goes to the intake. on a maf setup the map is actually a baro sensor and the hose is capped off and the nipple on the map is left open. swap over the maf sensor and hoses, pcm and main engine wiring harness. the injector harness is the same for a sd and a maf setup

as he just said, swap the engine harness and ECU, and all the other hardware. Both should run as they did before.

Is the Mass Air car an 89? If it's not, your job is going to be more difficult.
