Sorry, typo.. this is on a 4.6L 98 gt... stock tranny limit!

whats the max hp on a t-45. might be buying a black 98gt, and curious how much hp it can take, before having to buy a new one

The t-45 is rated to 325 ft-lbs of torque. But your driving style and abuse will determine how long the tranny survivies. Guys with more HP have had no probs.

And FYI, the 01+ T-3650 is rated at 360 ft-lbs.

Staying at or below 325 ft-lbs of torque is a good rule of thumb on a
stock T-45 because your driving style and if you abuse it or not will
determine if your T-45 is living on barrowed time.There are guys on here
that have had good luck going over 325 ft-lbs. though just depends.
