Heard some not so great things about the McLeod's fitting properly but have heard that it clears long tubes much better than the Lakewood. Please let me know so feedback if you have experience with either one. Thanks ....
Also a good place to buy ....

I've never heard anything about the Mcleod's not fitting right. Also, with the Mcleod you can run a t-5 or tremec with it..no need to buy another bell unlike the lakewood. Either bell will need trimming with certain longtubes. With the one i ran.. bassani's fit with the Mcleod whereas the bbk's wouldn't. The Mcleod is now sfi legal also.

I'm running the mcleod blowproof bell as wel. It fits fine and it clears my BBK longtube headers. What more could I ask for? I had summit price match oemfordparts.com since the one I bought was under a ford racing part #. I paid $239 for it and i'm using it with my tremec TKO.

Also, don't make the mistake I did, you need an extended fork, the stock one will work, but extended is better. I'm still using the stock one.

Thanks GRN92 - Am planning on doing the extended fork and I was looking at the Anderson extended fork. Not quite done researching though. Thanks for the input on the bell housing.

Grn, what bbk's were you running? I had the 1 3/4 and they wouldn't fit without grinding the bell. I had the bassani steps at the time also, so i threw them on. Also, do get an extended fork. I broke 3 cables before finding my problem...was causing a bind at the fork with the HD being short. Went with the Pro Motion and had no more problems...lighter pedal too compared to the binding one with the HD fork.

I have bbk 1 5/8" ceramic LT's. The bell wasn't cut to fit them.

I need to get an extended fork. How much of a PITA was it to pull the tranny and install a new fork? The bell doesn't have to come off, right?

No, the bell doesn't need to come off. For me, its gravy to remove the trans...i've removed them so many times i think it takes like 20 minutes to yank it. You can modify your fork for cheaper.

Does anyone make an SFI legal bell for the T56 yet?

I have one for my Viper T56. I had Don Walsh and his guys at www.ddperformance.com set me up with a custom Mcleod steel sfi bell and spacer for my T56. Wasn't cheap but it's sfi approved and i'm legal, not to mention my feet are safer.. :D And my Kooks 2" headers cleared with no notching of the bell housing :nice:

For an answer to the post.. Mcleod is the only bell worth getting IMO. I've been told that Red and his crew at Mcleod was priviledged to some help in getting the bell dead nuts so the need for indexing is no longer needed like the Lakewood.

Got a link to that pro motion clutch fork? Oh and dude, your Cobra is hot!!

Hey besides dropping the transmission, what else is involved in changing out the fork? Im gonna order that pro motion one and me and a buddy are gonna swap it in when it warms up a bit. Is it easy to replace?

I had one small problem with the Mcleod. I had to grind some material away on the "dust shield" I only had to do that because the weight from my flywheel was touching in a few spots. Took a few minutes with the angle grinder. No biggy, at least not for me.

My bbk 1 3/4 cleared every part of the bell. No grinding or clearancing was needed.
