McLeod or Lakewood Bell Housing??

awesome you dont have to do any triming with the mac headers, I was thinking about the lakewood, but if I ever grenade my t5 I want to buy a tremec, but with lakewood they are seperate bell housings and with the mcleod, so I think I'm going to get one of those :) when I rebuild my engine next winter

Have summit price match oemfordparts.com for part # fms-m6392c Its the mcleod bellhousing under a fms part number. It even comes in a mcleod box. This is what I did and I paid $239 for the bell :)

Thanks Grn92 - What type of clutch are you running with the tremec. I am considering either the McLeod or King Cobra from Anderson. I can't say I have researched either very well yet but I know you can't use a metallic surface clutch with the Tremec. Thanks again for the info

Funny you ask because i'm using 1/2 of both :) I am running a king cobra pressure plate and a mcleod disk. I got it from d&dperformance.com Luckily I bought it just before they raised the prices on it so I saved $30. I been running the tko and this clutch since the end of the summer. Its been great so far. My only issue is I didn't get an extended fork like I should have. Hopefully it'll "Warm up" a little so me and a buddy can swap in a pro motion extended fork. I refuse to work on the car when its 25* out and windy. Remember, for a TKO you need a 26 spline disk and a 31 spline slip yoke. Your better off buying an aluminum driveshaft from d&d with the 31 spline yoke. I paid $199 for that but I believe prices went up for that as well.

Personally i would buy the whole package from D&D www.ddperformance.com The Mcleod clutches are great.. They have less pedal effort and a higher HP rating than the King Cobra's.. I've used two single disc's Mcleods and it felt like stock.. Bought them from D&D

there was a guy on corral.net that went by NITROSTANG or something like that..that sold spec stuff and mcloud bells..thats who i got mine from...he had some good prices..im running a spec stage 3 with my TKO...

also..the mac headers fit fine with the mcloud bell but im also running a 351 block..not sure if that matters any...but it might

Do you guys know if there's any weight difference between the Lakewood and the Mcleod? I have the Lakewood in mine and cuss it everytime I have to mess with it but I can't justify ditching it for the Mcleod unless there would be another reason. Such as weight savings.

How much did the McLeod cost? I looked at the twin McLeod clutch and it ran about $750 from X2C. Is the McLeod a metallic surface?

Yeah the Twin disc is 750-850 with matching flywheel and shims. I have the twin now but I was recommending the Mcleod single disc set up that D&D sells. I think it was 279-299 for the clutch disc and pressure plate from D&D and good for about 550 fwhp.. I pushed 461 RWHP through it and it didn't miss a beat. I believe the Mcleod single disc is Kevlar on flywheel side; organic on pressure plate side. it was like a factory clutch while driving on the street. Call D&D for their recommendation. You won't fine a more knowledgable bunch of people when it comes to manual tranny's, especially since that's all they do. They know what works and what don't.

I believe it's the C102 or C103 kit for $299 but you'd have to call for sure

Thats the clutch i'm running. I thought it was a dual friction disk because each side of the disk are different material? Fwiw, its a fms HD pp but for $10 more you can get a king cobra pp which is what I did.

What's the difference between the FMS King Cobra and the Anderson Super King Cobra? I noticed the Anderson was about $10-$20 more and noted "10% better than King Cobra". Does Anderson take a FMS and change it somehow or is it their own design?

I ordered my FMS (McLeod) from Summit late febuary, had them price match it, and still haven't got it. Called today and they aren't expecting it till late May! Originally they told me April 13. Fug that! I cancelled and am looking for another place that has it in stock. McLeod or FMS, doesn't matter, I just want to get my car running! Anybody know a good place for these?
