Mech. Temp Question

Water temp: front of lower intake where the stock sensor is. Move the stock sensor to the rear of the lower intake so that you won't have a dead gauge in your cluster.

Oil line: Go to the hardware store and get yourself a t-fitting and use the oil sensor located near your oil filter.

that pic shows both of the correct sensors. for the water, i would drill/tap the thermo housing and put a sender in there. the back of the intake doesn't get much flow across the heads. for the oil, you have to take the sender off, it takes a 9/16 wrench to do that. once it is off, you will need 1/4 fittings to hook up your oil gauge. your stock oil gauge will be dead, unless you put a tee fitting on there for both gauges.

While Jerry is right, the stock temp gauge is such a hysteretic POS, I dont think it matters (mine acts the same as it did when it was up front). I left the water neck open in case I need a fan probe or something there. So while he is right, if the rear of the lower is what makes sense to use for the stock gauge sender, I dont have an issue with it.

And they got you covered with the OP gauge. You might need to adapt the mech OP gauge fittings up to 1/4" (or vice verse). It has been so long since I did one......But I thought they were 1/8" NPT fittings. One can use copper or braided line instead of nylon (personal preference).

Also since doing mech OP, one can remove the hex tube and tap a hole for the OP line. That keeps one from having to do a Tee, etc.
