Like the others stated they are basically a mustang, the idea is good but I think the capri owners should stay with us here on 5.0. talk and we can all be a big happy blended family .

I agree that a separate forum would not likely get the traffic and would be likely to lead to frustration for new members who own Capri's.

5.0 is 5.0....doesn't necessarily mean a Stang. The 94-95 has enough difference to it to warrant its own Tech thread....but the Capri I don't feel is different enough.

While it would be great to recognize Capri owners as a separate group.....for the sake of SN iteslf, I don't see it functioning efficiently and effectively with its own subforum.

EDIT....I just realized that you said in Talk. Most of my points still stand. Why not just create a thread for Capri owners and see if you get any chatter in it. If its a highly active thread, then a separate forum might be worthwhile. If it drops to the 3rd page in 2 days, probably not worth the webspace.

I was browsing around...and the 94-95 Talk thread seems to get a lot of traffic....but its really no different of topics than anywhere else. Actually, seems like alot of carbon copy threads that appear in BHR or elsewhere.

So to have a Capri Talk...I think you'd just end up with more of the same. And the Tech isn't much different to warrant a separate Tech thread.

I dunno Lynn...I don't own a Capri so I am not going to speak for owners who might want it, but I'm not sure I see a need.

What about a sub-forum for strictly Capri related trim, and body parts ?

I know I made a crack before, but I've been thinking about this since I've been watching what is unfolding. Although having a Capri section would be nice in a way, I too would be worried that questions in there may go unanswered due to limited traffic. I've gotten tons of help from the fox bodied mustang guys here, and the cars are basically the same minus the cosmetic differences. Plus I'd hate for the mustang guys to miss out on a fox tech or tip tidbit that may come across in a Capri only forum, or vice versa.

As a Capri owner, I'm gonna say I don't think a special section is needed - but that's just my opinion. If others here want it, then so be it. I'm not gonna complain.

You could always change the forum name to 5.0 Mustang & Mercury Capri..............lol

I am in agreement.

I don't think it will get the traffic.....You could try it out, see what happens, then merge it back in with this forum if it doesn't work out.

But there isn't enough capri followers I don't think.

If you build it I will follow though..LOL

I agree with darkwriter77. it's still a fox car. why not have a seperate talk/tech for four eye cars or ASC cars? I don't differentiate, deep down they all have the same moving parts.

while I am not partial to the capri or their bubble butts I do find the occasionaly rare gem that I find aesthetically pleasing.

I'm the owner of three Capris...

I agree with many of the posts saying it wouldn't get enough traffic. BTW, the "Mercury Rising" section at Four Eyed Pride was recently eliminated due to lack of traffic, so it wouldn't make much sense to start one here. If the Capri posts are kept in with the regular Mustang posts, I think they'll get more attention and expose more members to the unique and somewhat rare Mercury Capri.

No Capri owner here, but Im of the idea there just arent enough of them, and it truly is just some body pieces making up the difference. I would see a 4 eye one long before a capri one.

Don't get me wrong...there's a part of me that likes Capris more than Mustangs, but speaking on a forum usage only i just don't think it would be worth the time. Like someone else said, most everything about a Capri is also related to a Mustang except for the body panels and some interior trim, so you'd basically have the few people who own Capris post a few threads and then it would be stagnent. It's kinda like the 2.3 forum...i post in there but a lot of times it's really dead in there, and there's quite a bit more 2.3 owners here than there are Capri owners, so it would likely get less traffic than even the 2.3 forum.

How about a "Capri owners sticky"?
