Besides; what are you complaining about? Of we three lifelong denizens of The Closet and The Gutter, I'm the youngest; yet I'm the one who has a daughter closest in age to the Young Jedi and his betrothed Miss Heather. While you and the Cheap One can guiltlessly join the younger Horn-Dawgs in the :drool: -fest; I end up remembering that "That could be my "Little Baby Girl"...... :eek: :nonono:

Even if my "Little Baby Girl" does wear combat boots and camo for a living; and she quarterly qualifies on the M-9, M-16 :uzi: and (if there's time and the Rangemaster feels like letting her play) the M-249 SAW. :flag:







Andy; the yellow-and white-striped polo is fine (considering the weather), although it kinda clashes with the boat's upholstery. :p
The quilt/blanket/patchwork-denim thing is kinda different; but hey, I understand - I really HATE wind myself personally, no matter what the temps are.

But the sunglasses..... :nonono: Can't see the eyes. Eyes for some reason intrigue the H*** outta me.

Eh, not so much. I am trying to remain open minded about it but it is not the movie I have been waiting for all these years to see. And of course now I will never get to see that movie wether this one is succesful or not. I totally understand why they went the direction they did but I expected more from the Wachowski's. I was president of the fan club back in the early 90's and read many scripts that were truer to the 67' classic. Tommy Yune's 3 part "Born to Race" origin of SR comic that Wildstorm put out a few years ago would have been the perfect movie. It was a prequel set in modern times. I leave for China on 5/12 and this is the wifes first Mothers day so I won't be able to see it before I leave but I wouldn't be surprised if I am able to come back with it on DVD.

After the wedding Heather and I will be moving, I have taken a new job in another town, I hope this one goes a little better than the consulting gig. I will be Systems Support Specialist for Gregory Inc. The salary is just a little better and the benefits are a lot better only down side is I will be working in Buhler KS. We will either live there or in Hutchinson, Hutch is only 7 miles away. For now I will be commuting every day 30 min, but after the wedding we will be moving, I am hoping I can afford to purchase our first house, but we will see. We are just a little over a month away, starting to get excited!!!!!!!

Well I can make you feel better, my new job is 83 miles away on the absolute worst commute route that Boston has to offer. With an average of 16mpg and an expected price jump on gas of $4.50 by June, you do the math. On top of it peek commute hours can take 2-3 hours easily.

BTW, while it's not a tempting thought, you wouldn't be the first guy who had to sell his classic for a down payment. Come up with as much as you can anyway you can because if not and you get stuck with PMI until you are fully invested you will have easily thrown away enough cash to have bought the wife a matching classic.

The Deceiver was sold for exactly that reason, a first home. Years later, look at "Team Chepsk8" now.:nice:

Re: Purchasing a house.

Just make sure your incomes comfortably support all the costs associated with home ownership:

P.I.T.I.: Principle – Interest – Tax** – Insurance,
(**Visit the town hall and review property tax increases for past 10 years),
(**Most mortgages escrow the property taxes and are permitted (and likely) to collect up to 12% more than the actual tax bill.)
Utilities: Obtain copies of all recent utility bills,
Anticipated maintenance, repairs and upgrades.

I would recommend a 12-month delay in purchasing a house to allow you to establish that your employment is stable, reliable and desirable. Buying a house, only to end up attempting to sell it 6 months later is always a losing proposition. Financial distress has ruined many marriages.

Exactly, it's not pleasant but it's also not forever. Once you get married and start looking toward the future your priorities have to change in life if you want to grow. I came real close to selling my car for a down payment in 2000, took out an add and everything. Fortunately instead I agreed to move to Texas for a year for a huge signing bonus, it sucked but the year went quickly and we came back to New England and bought a house. After I lost my job in 06 and we had a baby on top of it the sale sign was going back on then this great job came out of no where. My commute sucks and I am run ragged but the security is worth it and once the market swings around and I know the job is working out we will probably decide to move. If I'm lucky I may not have to consider selling unitl my daughter is ready for college or a wedding but as much as I love my car push come to shove it's not what's most important to me anymore.

BNickel is in that boat right now, he's owned his GT for something like 20 years but they have out grown their current home and it's time to move on and sell the car. Fortunately there is always another project down the road when life course corrects itself.

Rich, about your last thought: Don't forget, Bryan has already gotten his "next project" even before the Mustang is sold and the house is bought. It's even the same year, just another division of Ford.

Actually, if I wasn't so enamored with my Cat's drivetrain - and if I could actually get back what I've already paid on it, and paid for it, and put into it since it was signed over to me - I'd probably end up doing the same thing. :shrug:

Yeah, how could I possibly forget, he's managed to work that Cougar into every other conversation for 5 years now, I told him he should call it Nessie because we always hear about it but no one ever sees it. Though we did just get our first look at it a week ago, so the mystery is finally over.

That's probably what the guys at work say about my car, they hear about it but only a couple have actually ever seen it.:rlaugh:
