Met the girl of my dreams today

Yeah, I am alive, just haven't had a whole lot of motivation to hop online. I have been snowed under here at work, seems like with spring coming a lot of people have been placing orders. Sent the boat into the shop to get its spring checkup, and a lower unit shift cable installed. Hoping to get back into some serious walleye fishing this spring. We are picking up our new pup this weekend, we purchased a beagle about 2 weeks ago and are just now getting to pick him up. So Saturday that's what we will be doing. I got the mustang out a few days ago, it was nice out so I figured I would take it for a drive. Unfortunately the weather has taken a turn for the worse, so probably wont be taking it out any time soon. There is a car show taking place at the mall this weekend, its probably going to be pretty rotten weather but I will probably make a walk thru just to scope out the local talent.

By the way wonder how old chepie is doing with his new lady friend. Are yall ready for spring? Here are the pics I posted on FaceBook.

i had mine out tonight, roads are still froze, they're dry...and its gonna be down for a bit putting the new tranny in. so i took it out.. :D

did the first burnout for the year too ... :P

Yo! Jedi Knight Andy!

I see the Force is still strong within you......

Great interest I have in pictures you referenced!

1.) I almost called a re-painted Firefly...... until I saw it was the e-flite "Blade".

2.)Oh please please tell me - what's that red/white gullwing?

3.)Is that "TRX" or "FOX" cast into that cylinder? If it's FOX, its gotta be older than you! Where'd you get it?

4.)Brittany's looking good still.... so what's with the new pup?

5.) I know newlyweds are historically broke, but OMFG! You're Super-Glue-ing GWS props?????????

And #6.) Okay, haven't figured out the "tent" over your bed...... may need more pic's. :D

1) Yeah its a Blade, Its fun to fly I enjoy doing spot landings and touch and go's in my house, its a lot harder to fly than most people think, especially when you have to try to forget your airplane habits. I am trying to get my wife to let me spring for the Falcon 40 next. Maybe after taxes.

2) The red and white gull wing is a Hobbyco School Boy, originaly it was outfitted with an AP .09. I upgraded it to an O.S. LA .15 now she really is a lot more fun, its by far one of my favorite planes.

3) That is actually a TRX 2.5R off of my T-Maxx with the cooling head removed. I took it apart and rebuilt it, that's one of the before pictures.

4) The Brittany is still doing good, he is an outside dog and is too big for Heather to hold, so Heather wanted to get another dog that she could hold like a baby, so I got her this pup.

5) Ok before you judge me you need to understand the circumstances. I used to live in western Kansas where there are NO hobby shops within 200 miles, Tower can take 5-8 business days to get fresh props to my buddy and I. One day it was especially gorgeous out NO wind sun shinning we decided to do some flying, by noon we had already broken all of our props (about 6 each) doing air combat training. We didn't feel like stopping so we decided to try to glue one of the props and see if it would hold, surprisingly it did hold for a while, so we glued the rest of them up, by the time we broke one we had another dry, so we finished out the day on glued props, about 2 weeks ago it was nice out, I didnt have any props so I glued a broken one to fly, granted I now only live about 50 miles from a hobby shop, I just didnt feel like making the drive just so I could fly for half an hour.

6) The tent was erected in the living room in front of the tv on a snowy winter weekend, Friday after work I went to the store bought enough supplies to last the weekend, and we didnt leave the tent all weekend, we watched LOTS of movies, didnt get dressed, we just let the snow pile up.

Okay Andy; I'll cut you some slack on $3 worth of SuperGluegel (or was it at least "thick" ZAP CA?) on a $1.69 prop. Although, since I live in the [/i]freakin' desert[/i] where ZERO hobby shops exist; I tend to order extras of EVERYTHING when I'm giving my credit card to Tower!

As for the tent.......
Pakrat said:
I'll bet it wasn't the only thing.......
:stupid:
.............and I'm not sure what you used for a potty but I hope to hell it was air tight.
:barf: - - - :barf:
^Pak^........ ^Me^

I am glad that you can relate, often times people take forgranted the ability to cruise down to the local hobby shop and grab a prop for a plane, a new set of blades for a chopper, or even a bottle of nitro fuel. Its a regular stop for me when I go to Wichita.

I learned long ago that the gutter crew takes every word literally and to double and tipple check your post before hitting submit, to avoid the type of humiliation that I am experiencing right now, but I guess sometimes you just get :owned:

Son of a gun, I'm on Facebook too!

yes, we're still going good, dealing with some family issues on her end, but still a couple. Not nearly as famously as Andy & Heather though, since we both have our loves & families. I will update on that soon.

I'm still waiting for the "I'm Pregnant" from Heather.....

You got a little time to wait there pal, the little lady and I are in no hurry. I guess there is such thing as a surprise tho

Yes there is........ however this almost always is a happy surprise.

Even at Fayetteville, NC's House of Torque, where the "Mustang Parts and Gun Room" had to be converted to a nursery; that surprise has been very welcome.

A month later; a certain desert rat denizen of The Closet got the opportunity to share the joy; if only for a too short time before DJ and his Mommy had to go back home to North Carolina.
I wasn't any more asleep than DJ was in that picture (we were staring at each other) - although I probably would have dozed off if my handie-talkie and my cellphone hadn't simultaneously gone off to tell me that I had another "Rodeo Issue" to smooth over! The moment was unbelievably great while it lasted.

Well, I couldn't read this entire thread and leave it without making a post. Seven hours well spent! My belated congrats to Andy and Heather! Quite a little story this thread turned out to be! I'll admit I started skimming once I reached page seventy or so. But hey, I have to be up early in the morning. :nice:

Now if only I could find myself a beautiful girl to marry... :)

Finding the "right one for you" can often involve lots of struggle (usually a lot of struggling 'til you find the right one). But it works out in the end.

I was seriously contemplating the idea of spending life sequestered in the middle of the White Mtn's of AZ - then a girl I knew (my driniking buddy's little sister) came tracking me down.

My daughter (Cowgirl Tink around here) thought she had found "The One" in a guy she'd known since she was 7 and he was 10. Yeeaaaahhhh, that marriage didn't last a full year. She was contemplating the idea of staying single "until I'm dead" when she ended up getting together with a guy she met while they were working on their vehicles in the Auto Hobby Shop at Ft Polk, LA. They were both in the Army at the time, now he's out as 7 days ago. Their relationship and marriage took place all in the timeframe of this thread.

Oh yeah, two things.....

1.) I see you've been around StangNet for a couple of months; but you may have stumbled across my daughter's "other half" somewhere along the line with ownership of you '95. Around StangNet (and I think still at HPJ) he's known as SVTCobra 306; on most other webpages he changed the "306" to "347" to match the new motor in his '94. He's been to a couple of MW's and FFW's (and an appearance with the car in "Mustang Enthusiast" mag) in-between deployments over the 10 years he's had the car; so as I said, your paths may have crossed.

2.) That's them with their son as a newborn pictured in the post two above yours. I have no clue who the Old Fart in the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" shirt is.......

Yeah, I haven't been in a relationship in ages myself, and it seems most of my friends are either married already or getting married. I'm pretty much where Andy was at the beginning of this thread. That is, I'm looking for a long term thing that would lead to marriage. Hell, I'm getting old, at least compared to all of my "married at 21" friends.

I think I had a stangnet account a few years ago, but I went inactive around '04 or '05. I decided to join the site again shortly before I bought my Cobra; which is why my screen name is 02 281 GT rather than something regarding the Cobra. I've only had the Cobra since Feb, and I love it!. I've actually never had a chance to make it to a MW or FFW, but I would like to see if I can make it to MW this year since I'm so much closer (used to live in Oklahoma). That screen name sounds familiar, so I'm sure I've seen him around here at some point. I haven't really been here long enough to really get to know anyone on these forums, but I definitely want to. Most of the forums I'm used to (especially the local clubs in OK) are pretty cutthroat and unfriendly.

That's a cute grandson you got there!

I'm still waiting to hear from Dan about his love life; but I can understand...... seems every time he mentions a female on this Forums, she bolts! Haven't quite figured that one out yet.

Couple-three weeks ago; I dropped a PM on the BBFCM, asking was he still alive and creating havoc on the North Shore. He's fine, working like a dog (that's an ER for you) and learning to live with his younger room-mate and her friend (also female) and their dogs.
Ummmmmm, yeah.

Yeah I have kinda been waiting to here how Dan was doing. But like you said every time he mentions a lady on here she is headed in a different direction. Oh well thats the way it works.

Thanks for the congrats, we are just about up on our one year anniversary, we haven't decided what we want to do, do yall have any suggestions? We were thinking about rolling up to Kansas City and going to the amusement park up there, or possibly hitting up a Royals game, not quite sure. Anyway, here is the new life one day at a time album. The old one got full.

Well, you guys got married in June, so you want to be cool. Therefore, I don't know if you'd be interested in how Sue and I spend a weekend in late October; but I'll tell you anyway. Anniversaries are -at least in our minds- moments to share without others; so we try to celebrat a nice fall weekend in a Jacuzzi suite at one of the finer innkeepers about town. Works out well in the packing department too! - You only have to really pack a change of underware and socks (if they have excellent room service); or maybe some 'fancy dress' stuff if the room service leans more towards "Sucks", and you plan on going to a finer eating establishment nearby. Even robes are optional; just throw on a pair of pants when the room service guy shows up -your wife can hide in the bedroom 'til he leaves.

Limo rides are cool., too.... on Sue's birthday (February 20), we had a 217 foot long (okay, I'm exagerrating, maybe it was only 117 feet long) Lincoln pick us up for a trip to Red Lobster -her choice, but the King Crab is great and the steaks are edible if the guy in the kitchen really understands the term "medium-rare". From there we went to Cocopah Casino; which was a first for us even after 20 years back in Yuma. (All the electronic bells give me a migraine inside 30 minutes)
We roll up to the Casino in the huge-azz limo, the security guy at the door grabs his radio mic; and 4-5 greeters run out to take us to the "Players' Club" to check in.
2-1/2 hours later, while my head is starting to implode (again, this part of the trip was the Birthday Girl's idea); I calm myself a little by totting up how much we spent on the slots - sum total=28 bucks. At one point we were 'up' about $325; but we just kept punching the "Play" buttons and watched the wheels spin 'round and 'round.
When we "ran out"; we ambled towards the door as Rufus (I swear to God, I called him on it and he showed me his license - his name really was "Rufus"!) mysteriously rolled up in the Battlestar Abraham at just the right time to take us back to chez StangDreamin'.
To put it mildly, the entire night was awe-inspiring, mostly the part about the limo ride. Even after I paid the $380 tab on the car, Rufus would not tell me how he 'knew' to pull out of the bus parking lot at exactly the correct time to be at the door as we walked out; but I'm pretty sure he was paying somebody off at both the restaurant and the Casino.

So there you go... two ideas for the price of one.

While I'm at it.......

After typing the last post; I went and looked at your new facebook album.
A few thoughts:

1) Very nice work on the boat - she's a beaut!

2.) That's not the rotor-head/collective ass'y on the Blade, is it??? Gotta be the new bird.

3.) Awwwwwwwwwwwwe, cute puppy. :nice:

4.) D@mn, Dude! That girl is looking hotter every time you show off pics! :hail2:

5.) HOLY SHIITE!!!! SHE'S AT THE STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRIS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
Oh, wait a minute.... there's no whipped cream and her hair's not all wild. PSSSHEW!
As my old friend Roseanne Roseannadanna would say, "Oh.....
Never mind!"

:rlaugh:
