krash: back one page, you mentioned a 12ga. bolt-action Mossberg. I have one of those as well, except mine is a 20 ga, with the Poly-Choke . Was my Dad's, and my older brother's didn't want it, because the receiver is well worn and the bolt can sometimes jam when shoved into battery - at least by an overexcited
right-hander. Being a lefty; it doesn't really give me any trouble at all! 30"

has come back to the ZI for a couple of weeks R&R
(before he goes back to the sandbox
); and tomorrow, his sweetheart (another
) will be flying from her post to his post to visit said hero. Then they will be driving to his childhood home in Western (I think it's western) Iowa to visit his small-town friends and family.
(Sounds kinda topical for this thread, huh? It gets better, 'cause there's a Stang in it!)
ON this trip they will be taking the soldier's (his, not her's) '94 Cobra back home to Iowa where his Dad (and Uncle, and Cousins, and who-all-else I don't remember) will be finishing the installation of the new motor for this car. Something with a little more displacement than the aged, broken 5.0, something with a taller deck, and there was something about a stroker bottom-end that might require a bigger "blue bottle" in the trunk. Apparently, the Beach Boys' song will be re-written with the bridge, "She's Real Great, My 408" So boys, if you happen to come across a guy with a military haircut in a snowy-white SN95; ummmmm, you might want to think twice.......
So, the questions, dear readers, are thus:

Will the young couple make their trip safely across the central United States?

Will they be able to visit all of the friends, ride all the quads, view all the starlit Midwest nights that they planned?

Will the young soldier-girl, used to hauling horses behind a Chevy pickup be able to spell the young soldier-boy at the wheel of an F150 while hauling a big white Snake which once graced a national publication?
(yeahyeahyeah, the organ again)
Will the readers get pics (preferably in another thread) of the young couple, including at least one which explains why the F150 is known as
"The Grape Ape"???
