Metal Rattle

Recently I noticed when im slowing down with the clutch in, ( mostly into a stop sign ) I hear a clanking sound under the shifter. It directly between the two front seats under the shifter. Also its loud enough to hear outside.

Any clues? I was aware that the U-Joint needed replaced? Is that what it is?

Do you have cats? Could be a heat shield.

I had something like that once, turns out it was the release bearings in the clutch area
