What do you guys think about the silver reflective tint on the 05s? I've never seen one in person, and since my GT is Mineral Grey I can't decide if I should get black, semi-reflective, or silver. Maybe I should get the rainbow holographic stuff...hmmmm.

Let me know what you think please!

Get a light to medium grey tint w/UV protection. The others look way too Ricer. My two cents......

Yea, I agree. Black tint is the only choice for a black or white car, but I flip-flopped for a while on mine.

I ended up getting a Huper-Optik tint all the way around called "Stark-30". I'll post a few pics after I wash her and we get some sun.

I was going to get the Huper-Optik too, but opted for Suntek HP instead. I was concerned about cell phone and radar reception which is reduced with the all metal construction. Suntek HP is a dyed/metal hybrid and so far I haven't noticed any loss of signal strength.

Also, with the Huper-Optik, it looks dark on a sunny day, but changes to a silver tint on a cloudy day.

There a company that makes a tint that has ceramic in it. It’s a light tint and the company name sounds German. I saw it at an auto show. It does not allow heat to pass through it. I wish I can think of the name

"Huper Optik" is the name.

Total cost for me was almost $300 for a lifetime no-questions warranty. The Huper costs almost $100 more than the top of the line 3M.

I didn;t take any pics...sad too since I spent about 2 hours waxing her this weekend and today it is overcast and drizzly

I used the stuff from Ziebart that has light-med tint and a light reflection on it. I think it looks great the reflection isn't noticeable enough to be ricer. There's a GT in town with the same tint. Oh cost like $200 and is warrantied for life

Edbert, can you please provide some additional insight? Why should I pay a premium? It is German and is probably a superior product but can you explain the advantages? What about using a Valentine 1 where the rear antennae receives the signal thru the rear window. Will my detector be comprimised? My car is Windveil Convertible and Tan top and the dark 80 percent tinting that is being recommended here in Florida will probably look pretty Ghetto. Is this stuff impervious to scratching? thanks!!

Well, I can explain without any tech if you'd like, for any technical expertise I'd direct you to their website http://www.huperoptikusa.com/products_ceramic.cfm

Anyhow, at my dealer (where I've had all my cars done for almost 15 years) they have a heat lamp like you'd find in an old style fast food joint. You stick your hand in the box and push this little button that turns the lamp on. After about 5-10 seconds the heats becomes quite uncomfortable, then they slide a peice of glass with the cheap crap that turns purple after a few years in and you feel it cool down noticeabley. After a few seconds though the heat is still there and continues to grow when they slide the good 3M kind in and you get releif. You can still feel some heat but it is so low you could sit there for hours. Then they slide in the Huper, and the heat is completely gone, I could not tell any difference with the light on or off...SERIOUSLY.

What strikes me is that the heat rejection is the highest in the industry but the light transmission is higher than the others, this means you can run with a lighter tint and not have to worry about Johnny law yet you still get the cool interiors and wont have to worry about faded cloth or cracked leather as much. Win-win if you ask me. But if you want black galss this might not be what you are after.

Edbert - have you checked out Custom Sounds? They did mine with Formula One, Pinnacle series (ceramic) 30% all around. They did an excellent job. Lifetime warranty. I called and got a quote and was misquoted a price of $200.00. They honored the quote, though. I think it may be closer to $300.00. I almost got Huper Optik...but this has higher heat rejection.

Here's a forumula one link: http://formulaone.com/

This is the result on my girl:

REFLECTIVE TINT? Like ricer limo tint?

BOOOOO.

That is about the same as Pep Boys Red and Blue Film that the Mexican Ricers put on their 1992 Nissan Sentras.

Unless you are talking about the "lighter tint" that is made to reflect UV sun rays. (Much Higher Quality) I am confused without pictures..

At Custom Sounds, $99 is what I paid on Mothers Day Special 2 years ago.

Less than $200 for a 4 door sedan is good.

I've been a loyal customer of Mother's for many years. They re-did the back window of my Conra after almost 8 years no questions asked. I'm not saying other companies wont do the same but when I get good service it keeps me coming back.

Hmmm, nice car, and nice choice for a locale, the Bob Bullock History Museum!

Just put the word "img" inside square brackets before the full link and the "/img" inside a set of square brackets at the end of the full link. Or you could try the advanced buttons. The problem might be the site you are using, many of them do not allow cross-linking in order to reduce bandwidth consumption.

No, not the mirror stuff, or the rainbow LSD stuff...LMAO! I could get a gold eagle hood ornament, or put my name in 14 inch tall gothic/germanic script in the back window too!

I WAS considering a semi-reflective metallic tint until I saw the ceramic stuff. The metallic tint looks pretty good on some colors, with the MGM on my car I wasn't quite sure.

Pick your image. Go to uploadyourimages.com (the images are temporary, but last long enough for the needs most have on stangnet, for chit chat.),

Upload the image. Copy the tagged link. It is called Message Board Links.

Some of these allow hotlinking...
