Who has one? I am looking for some real opinions, not all the marketing material that I just read on Snow Performance's website. If you know someone who has one please tell them to post here, a lot of people know someone with meth but I'm having a hard time finding people that want to share their experiences.

Stang is going in the shop getting:
Cobra tank and pumps
60# injectors
SAF2600 MAF
14 PSI Pully for KB
SAF Chip + Tune

Do I add Meth or not? That is the question... Any opinions welcomed. Thanks guys.

if it is a 1.7 KB i would add meth.

my buddy had a blown 6.0 in a denali truck and he picked up around 80 rwhp from his meth kit.

well i can tell u alittle bit ,my friend has a 04 cobra and he got meth in it ,gave him 93 horses and it was okay untill he started to run out of meth, then he got a bigger tank in the trunk it to his tuner lots of runs on the dyno to make sure the tune was rite, but last week he needed a new motor I asked him what happened he said it was the meth I told him not to get it but he did. at 1 time i was going to get it and i did my research I called all kinds of people and companys thay said yes or no, it was a 50 50 respond i asked my tuner he said its not worth it but its up to me well i have to much $$$$$$$$ in the motor u can ask him call at 5106591100 or bigboyracing.com my friend went through a nother tuner called apexmotoersports.com but bill sod it and it went through 2 hands thay were very good at time but it got sold 2x .On a issue of MM&FF there was a guy with twin turbos and he had a nob were he would switch tunes . u can do that 2 be safe, alittle bit. that nob I think I seen it at lethalperformance.com or try sctflash, lightingforceperformance, innovative just surf u will get it But make sure your tuner knows whats up and ask more people 4 info on it and do 1 thing i tell everyone dont have 345678910 guys working on your car make sure that is 2 be known when u drop the car off good luck

you can not run out of meth once you're tuned for it. the extra power comes from the added timing that comes from the methanols higher octane and the cooling effect it has on the intake charge. it is fine as long as you have the methanol there when you need it but when you run out you will have detonation problems b/c of all the advanced timing

snow performance though has a sensor that when you run low on meth it starts to pull timing back out. so you wont have detonation problems when you run out.

I would never tune my car for meth....if I had it, it would be there simply to make things safer and hopefully give me a little more power from the cooler charge.

Unfortunatly on the cobras, it doesnt help with cooling very much. Its better suited for turbo or centri based cars.

It is a 1.7 KB.

The kit is a Stage 2 Snow Performance with an extra 7qt. res. that is installed in the trunk so I shouldn't run out of juice.

The tuner says "Tyge, as for the meth, very good option. I have been doing the meth on Kenne Bell car for quite a while now. You get a couple benefits from doing that. Higher fuel ocatane and also the cooling affect of the water. Allows you to still run pump gas with higher boost levels. The SP kit is an electronic set up that works well with the Kenne Bell's. It is a MAF dependant set up that is triggered off the the MAF voltage and comes on progressevly. I would recomend the Snow kit because from my experience on the KB cars. I bring the spray in a little later than normal due to how quickly those blowers make boost and you don't want it spraying until you are in the throttle and want it to. If it sprays too early it casues drivability issues that are a PITA."

I was just reading a few month old article on that thing. Its like $150?? and all it does is send a signal to a J&S Safegaurd knok sensor to pull the timing and cant do it by itself, I guess it could be wired to a MSD retard controll but still your talking a few hundred extra dollars to get the timing pulled when empty. It seems to me you could just send the signal that turns on the "empty" light to a MSD retard controller and achieve the same thing?

I agree, maybe between something like that and having two different tunes (One with and one without Meth) I will have better peice of mind.

Yeah thats perfect. I am gonna get a LiveWire and have a 9lb tune, a 12lb tune without Meth (real conservative) and a 12lb tune with meth. That way I can feed the low warning signal to the LiveWire and it will alert me then I can just change the tune if I am away from the supply
