I ordered the MGW shifter for the 3650 yesterday, it being my first "real" mod. I suppose window tint and a thermostat doesnt count

Is their anything I need to know before I install it? I have the instructions and I am pretty clear on the install.. but is there anything beyond that that could help me along my way?

Any comment would be much appreciated.

It's pretty simple.. the only thing I did that wasn't on the instructions was to put a towel over the opening in the tranny while I was doing other things. I also saved all the factory **** in bags in case I ever need to swap it back on.

I found it VERY easy to remove the stocker. It said that was the hardest part of the installation. I just smacked it to one side and it came right off (after the bolts were out.)

Be careful prying that plastic piece off at first, it's easy to scratch the crap out of it if you get frustrated or miss with the screwdriver.

Oh, and take it for a spin to make sure the handle position is comfortable for you before you throw it all back together.

Your going to love it, installed mine a couple of weeks ago. it's pretty straight forward, I did take out the front and rear stop screws because thay reccomended it and the 3650's have them already built in. Even w/o the stops it's a very short throw. Good luck.

Yea, forgot about that.. they recommend not to use the stops with the tremec.. and if you search other threads, you'll find the majority of people with tremec's don't use the stops.

Sounds good. I'm pretty excited. The stock one is sooooo sloppy.. it's really beginning to bug me to no end.

just have 3/8" drive sockets when taking out the 4 mount bolts. we broke our 1/4" socket when doing mine. i think you need 10mm and 13mm, but could be wrong. its pretty easy, and you're going to love it

Henceforward

Change fluid

While you're doing the install, change your tranni fluid. It's much easier to change it while the shifter is off because you can pour the new fluid in the hole where the shifter was. I wish I had thought of this when I put my mgw in.....

Where are you located?

I've got a pretty good set of plans for my car, just waiting for the money to come in.

Lemmme knoooow

Oh yeah.. I bought it direct from their site www.mgwltd.com. They set it up well and give you a lot of information on it. It looks liek a winner to me, and EVERYONE loves it. I'm excited.
