I just put this thing on. My initial impressions were very positive. Very solid, precise shifts. No noise. It feels like I have a new transmission.

However, when it comes to shifting fast, I think its slowing me down. With the stock shifter, each shift was over in one quick throw. But with the new shifter, it seems like each shift is more like two quick throws -one to neutral and one into the next gear.

Is this going to loosen up over time, or do I have to live with this?

Thanks

The centering springs will 'break in' and it will become easier.

i have the same shifter. I love it. It feels great. It will break in and it will become more smooth.

With the MGW shifter you need to give the shift throws more effort than just a normal shifter. This is where you get the positive feel of the throws. It'll break in, in about 2 weeks depending how much you drive it. Then it will shift like 'butta.

Yes, shorter throws do mean a little more effort due to the loss of mechanical advantage, but give the springs time to break in.

Trust me, you'll love it.
