mismatched shocks?

this summer id like to install some lowering springs..probably the pro kit..but id also like to install new front struts...but iv already replaced the rear shocks with Lakewood 50/50's...should i replace the rears also with whatever brand i get for the front? probably KYB

no. there is no need for the brands to match.

Agreed: Since the damper rates are different between the front and back it won't matter if you have different brands installed front / back.

You would notice issues if you installed non matching components on left / right sides of the car.

I think you should save up a bit, and spend the extra dough for some better struts!

no need for nice expensive struts...if i leave the back those shocks are pretty cheap...and that car is a street car...my 89 GT has the generic KYB's all the way around and i noticed it rides alot better then my 91 with the lakewoods in the rear and stockers in the front..haha...
