O.k. I got the stang finished and running well. Its a 94 with a fresh rebuilt 302 (.030) over. mild port on the heads, stock intake. Heavy valve springs, stock rockers. stock cam. bbk 70mm tb. bbk shorty headers O/R h pipe borla exhaust. Here's my problem I'm not really imressed with performance and I am thinkin from the looks of the plugs that I'm running a little lean. Makes sence with some airflow mods and stock fuel setup. So the Question is What fuel mods should I get to put me where I need to be. MAF and inj. or just a reg. and up the pressure?

You didn't mention gears manual 3.73 auto 4.10 . that will help get the car in it's power range alot faster and out the hole like a bat at of hell . Than an intake cobra, edelbrock, trickflow. 70mm throttle body is probably hurting you with that stock intake and mild heads try a 65mm throttle body. good luck

ya the car is crying for a gear the 3.08 sux outta the hole. Thats kinda what I was thinking about the tb. So what do you think is causing the lean situation.

don't know but you could use a fuel pressure regulator to help with that it's not a fix more like a band aid. I'm not sure if timing would effect how lean or rich you run but you could check that hell advance the timing to like 13* to 14* and run 93 at the pump.

Cool I may up the fuel psi. a couple lbs. and throw on an uppr/lower intake combo than go from there. At what point do the factory 19lb. inj. need to be upgraded.

Unless your fuel pump is shot or you have a plugged fuel filter, you shouldn't need anymore fuel than stock since the mods you have didn't gain you much at all. That 70mm is too big for the stock intake, ESPECIALLY if you didn't port match the opening on the intake to 70mm. Put the stock T-body back on, even a 65 isn't needed yet on your car. Add some ASP pulleys, gears (I prefer 4.10's if staying NA) and an edelbrock intake and you'll feel like you have a totally new car on your hands. You then may want to try the 70mm t-body and see how the car reacts then with it, it might benefit you at that time. BTW, I run a 65mm t-body.

I only have the 70mm tb cause it's the only one that came with the car.Looks like I'll have to either pick up a stock one or get the intake.

Go for the intake you won't regret it unless you find a tb really cheap, but still the goal is to faster isn't? why go back to factory when you can up grade . just my .02

My thoughts exactly, what do you think about that trick flow 75mm intake setup? It's pretty reasonably priced from Summit.

If your sticking with the mild modded E7 heads, you can get the lower ported for less money (~$130) than a Cobra or Performer style intake and make about the same average power - paste the link in my signature for more info. Definately do something about the intake and get an adjustable regulator for fine tuning.

Martin, which intake are you refering to? In your case I wouldn't opt for anything other than the street heat if you planned to go with the TF stuff. I love the edelbrock performer as it gives you solid gains with the stock heads and cam, as well as when you upgrade those parts to better flowing aftermarket stuff. If you didn't portmatch the t-body to the inlet of the upper intake, you are causing a high turbulence area since you now have a 90* step the air must tumble over. If nothing else, port match it. I highly suggest the e-brock stuff, I don't think you'll find ANYONE here with anything bad to say about it because those of us that run it have run well with it on both stock headed, as well as aftermarket headed combos. It will allow you to grow with it for a long time. I ran 13.8's at 98.55mph at nearly 3800lbs with the e-brock intake, 65mm t-body, shorty headers, offroad x pipe, flowmasters, ASP pulleys, 3.73's, and nitto drag radials.

Good info. I have the trick flow street heat and the stock TB. Should I be worrying about port matching too?
