This is a joke, right? Speed enhancing parts? Really?

Speed enhancing parts aren't illegal, don't kill innocent bystanders, or leave them permanently maimed and very likely disabled for life. Street racing does do that and we have a responsibility as a community, to do our part to ensure that we keep our hobby and sport safe and set a good example for others, particularly those just entering the sport. If I had a child who had just received their driver's license, I know damn well that I would want them to act responsibly, and I'd be quite pissed off if they were getting the idea shoved down their throat that street racing was somehow socially acceptable on some internet messageboard that's full of their peers. It's illegal and we don't want it here, period.

:lock:

Street racing kills. Modifying does not.

That really sums it up right there. When you street race, you could potentially kill innocent people while you race at 100MPH down residential streets. It's illegal and should not be promoted in any way.

Illegal modifications? You do have a point about that, but putting 3.73's in your car doesn't kill anyone. Installing underdrive pullies won't put little Susie into a Coma. Not everyone is so fuel considerate either. From your post, and the fact that you list your MPG where other's list their 1/4 mile times tells me you are concerned with fuel ecomony. Many people aren't. While i don't personally agree with removing cats, it's their personal choice to mod their car in such a way that increases fuel consumption. To try and ban this sort of discussion basically it trying to take down the entire automotive performance industry....good luck with that.

We are not the police, we don't enforce laws, we are real people who enjoy this hobby. The owners of the site have decided to enforce a "no street racing" policy. That's what it comes down to.
