as i've decided to slightly modify my bullitt, i've layed down these as my first set of modifications:

- diablo tuner
- 4.10 gears

my only concern is that where i live (vancouver, canada), like seattle, it rains alot and can snow sometimes. would 4.10 gears be ok (obviously, provided i have good gas/clutch skills) or would 3.73/3.90 be better? i just dont want to get a new set of gears only to feel minimal accel. gains.

also, nitrous might be a future project, would 4.10's be too much?

thanks in advanced..

Carlos

I'm in Alberta and drive my car most of the year. I have no problems with my 3.73's on the snow and ice. Just make sure you have tires with good tread for "winter" in Vancouver. I don't think you'd have a problem with 4.10's as long as your not stomping it all the time in the ice and snow. You do have to baby them a little. With the nitrous the 4.10's might be steep but i don't know, i've never had 4.10's.

i understand. the nitrous was a plan that came up as i hade a custom-built system in my previous RX-7. it is, however, only a plan - im 90% not going to do it due to the rarity of my car.

but i want to replace - improve, rather - some existing components in her. the gears, midpipe (h-pipe), catback and CAI. then compliment all those with a tuner.

speaking of the diablo, does it help alot?

I do not think you should do nitrous on a collectable car like that. The gears are ok imho, with manual 3.73 would be good. For some strange reason FRPP does not make 3.90s

Since FRPP gears are the only way to go imho, 3.73 would be the best choice.

The Diablo or SCT will correct your speedo after the gear install so it really is a no brainer.

The Diablo or SCT will not only let you change many parameters of your engine it will also enable you to datalog and is a great learning tool. Buying one and learning about it will go a LONG way in your gaining knowledge and understanding of you car and how it works. I def recommend them
