Ok guys, gettin the powerdyne sc 9 lbs. I'd like to know what other mods I should do to my stang as far as the transmission (auto), rear I (already know I need 3.55s), and engine, to be able to handle the supercharger. Also I was wondering what h/c/i i could toss on without killing the block, I was considering maybe getting the stock heads ported, maybe a ported cobra? idk I figure you guys could lemme know what I should do to strengthen the rear, what all I need to toss in the transmission as far as stall converter n wut not to make it perform well n handle it all. I just want the car to be properly set up to run with the sc and maybe squeeze a few more horses n sum tq outta the engine without havin it give out on me.
Thanks guys

Rear end girdle would be a good idea for the bearing caps. Don't forget to uprgrade the fuel system with a bigger pump, larger injectors and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You're going to need an ignition system as well with the option of boost retard too.

Mainly just a good fuel system, tranny and rear should hold up for a long while....i would personally drop in a t-5 5spd if your really worried about the get-up-and-go factor, aod eats up alot of the power from the engine.

Well it seems easier to just do up the auto, I read that doin up the auto is more reliable than a 5 speed, as far as rebuildin it all tha time.

So let's see, rear end girdle, 3.55s,
Bigger fuel pump, larger injectors(wut size?) and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
Ignition system with boost retard. (any suggestions for ignition?)

wut bout an intake, heads and cam?
Porting the stock heads?
Cobra, holley, or edlebrock intake?
cam?

Running 9 lbs on a stock motor usually works well with some 30 lb injectors. If you want to do the H/C/I setup, look into the Edelbrock stuff. For instance, their Performer 5.0 intake is freakin AWESOME!! Gains of up to 37 hp on a stock motor. Edelbrock or Trickflow, you can't go wrong with those. I to am looking at running a 9 lb supercharger on my stock motor. Good luck.

Don't do it! I've heard more horror stories about their blowers than all the others combined. I personally know someone that had a very bad expeience and their are a few guys in my area that had poor experiences too.

Buy a Paxton, or a Vortech, or a Procharger, but don't buy a Powerdyne.

That's true, I forgot about the Powerdyne horror stories. The company I'm wanting to order mine from the Vortech is only $200 more than the Powerdyne, and it comes with a fuel pump. superchargersonline.com, check em out.

I was told that's only if you try to go past the 9 lbs, you change the pulley n all to try to bump it up to get more then they wear out. Otherwise they were supposed to hold up good. My thing was I was looking to get a used one bolt it on nice n easy no need for tapping the oil or anything, seemed pretty quick and easy. Only thing I was considering was the procharger, I'd heard they were self contained units also, this true?

Some are, some aren't. Like I used to be looking at the P-100 supercharger, and the P-1SC, they were the same except for the SC was "self-contained". That was a while ago, they might have changed now. If you can find a used one for cheap (powerdyne that is) then might as well go for it. If it ever gives you problems, just resell it and slap a Vortech V-1 S-trim, a Paxton NOVI 2000, or an ATI Procharger on it and be done.

Procharger has the P600 (tap the oil pan style) and the P1SC (self-contained) curently. They have others too, but those are race units.
