hey guys!

i'm both new to this community and new to the mustang community in general - i'm the proud owner of an '07 GT as of this spring. anyway, i have a general modification question that i'm hoping i can get some advice about.

i should say first, though, that aside from some minor aesthetic improvements, so far i've had three changes made to the pony: 1. Borla full cat-back exhaust; 2. BBK cold air intake; 3. Steeda 5.0 short shifter. i am extremely happy with all three modifications, but now i sit at a crossroads; here's where you come in (hopefully)...

what should i do next?

bear in mind that i'm too green to do any mods myself (my g'friend's brother helps me out), and i don't want to go so overboard that my entire warranty is shot to hell.

so, headers? cats? suspension upgrades?

any and all advice will be very greatly appreciated.

headers will make it much louder, i have the borla and am very pleased with that. plus u keep ur cat which is good for emissions and warranty. i would say right now i would upgrade the suspension. i notice these cars have some body roll and very prone to wheel hop. thats what im gonna focus on in my 05 gt. thats what i think u should do. and make sure u have a good set of tires, the stock ones on mine are not too great(pirelli p zero nero)

b4 i started doing all that stuff. i would get a tuner. x2 or predator are two that are well known. best bang for the buck on these new gts:nice:

Talk about opening a can of worms! You're gonna get a million different answers on this. How about some more info? Is your stang a daily driver? What do you do with it; car shows, road racing, drag racing? I can think of very few mods that will please everyone regardless of their interests.

thanks so much for all your replies thus far!

upgrading the suspension and looking into getting a predator both sound like good ideas. i'd love to lower just the front a bit to give the pony an ol'school, aggressive stance; larger and wider rear rims/wheels would be cool too - maybe 18 x 10.5's in the back and 17's in the front...

and to answer your question jlisle01, my gt is a daily driver (it's my only ride) and i don't plan to do anything particularly interesting, though i have thought about trying things out with a friend of mine down at englishtown. but by and large, my gt will be eatin up the asphalt around town only. so i suppose that needs to temper my mod choices a bit.

I'd say go with Long Tube headers, a catted mid pipe (if you want to stay emissions legal) and then go with suspension. Lowering springs, lower rear control arms, and an adjustable panhard bar (recenter the car when you lower it). Friend of mine has those suspension mods and it makes the car handle a helluva lot better than stock yet the ride isn't too harsh.

I'd say suspension is the priority but US roads are a totally different proposition to UK roads. A set of Tokico D-spec shocks and a good set of springs with some lower profile bigger tires sharpens up the handling and steering response very nicely.

Well, if you're just terrorizing your home town then I'd stick with the mods that serve multiple purposes. Stuff like lower control arms are only good if you're drag racing and unless someone that really knows these cars comes along, you'll probably be the only one who knows they're there. So consider stuff like;
1. Wheels and tires; good overall gain in performance, both straight line and cornering, and they look great.
2. Lowering springs. Same as above.
3. A Hurst short throw shifter, looks good in the car and gives you a good performance feel.
4. You can do a axle back exhaust easy and you won't need a tuner. Sounds better and the exhaust tips look great but it seems a little redundant since the performance gain is next to nothing. Another idea; leave the stock muffs on and get a tuner and off road x pipe. Great sound and a HP gain to boot.

Great advice!!!!! Added advice on the stock mufflers to above quote.

Supercharge it...their are laws to protect you. Also , if you talk to a dealership that sell saleen and svt products (or roush):Track: they can let you know what they will let pass without giving you a hard time. hell they can sell it to you and install it which will mean they will service it also. Just a thought... DRIVE SAFE BUT HAVE FUN!!!:nice:
