Ok I just got off of the phone with the motorsports shop and this is what we discussed. I inquired about the purchase and installation of the 4.10 gears and they quoted me a price of approx. $600.00 now this seems a lil high from what I've seen here as the gear is $138 and the install kit is $100... Should the labor cost be that much more? Also I inquired about a new PI intake and was informed of the PI intake/manifold kit for $650 prior to installation. The guy said they are good for up to like 25-30 hp. So my other question is this.. I know I can't really do the gear install but is the install of the intake kit that difficult? Does it require removing pistons and things like that or is it a case of just removing the old manifold and replacing it with the new one like the plenum and throttle body install? Please respond before I commit to this.. Thanx guys...

i paid $700 for my gear install but that also included a chip so without chip it would have been $500 so i guess $600 isn't THAT bad. If the guy really knows what he is doing and is REAL good then i think it would be worth the $600.

ok cool.. I think these guys know their stuff at Livernois Motorsports. I went to their website and they seem to be a top notch group... Ok well I'm off to modland.. wish me luck.. My goal is only to get around 350hp at the flywheel so hopefully it shouldn't be too hard.

naw, at this point the cobra looks simply out of reach for me. i can't come up with enough of a down payment to get the monthlies down to where i can afford it, and i dont want to lease the damn car either.

so i may try again in a few months, save up some cash, like 8 grand or something, then sell the GT, pay off Ford, and try again.

So $600 was a bit high even though it includes the gears and instal? Well I'll just shop around some more I guess. The president and treasurer of our car club normally installs all this stuff for members but being that it is winter it's hard to catch up with them cats..

talk with your car club guys and see if they recommend any places
I don't think $600 is too much, does that include speedo recal too? (i don't know what's part of that install kit )
