Mods to a '94 GT/AODE

Hey guys!! Thanks for the input!! I was expecting a little help but this is great!!!! I do drive the car everyday and need it for road trips so it won't be getting too much work done. It really is cheap and easy to mod, so, you know.... I thought about my "cheap" comment about the computer and realized it is stupid to not think that $400 isn't a great deal. I'm just afraid that I'll spend all my time "tuning" on it. I just can't leave well enough alone. Yep, 3.73's in the cards, as well as my mentioned mods. Thanks for the heads up on the pulleys. I almost forgot. Then big brakes, Cobra R's and dropping it a little. Has anyone used the Ford Performance Parts Lowering kit. It's the one that has sway bars, shocks and lowering springs for about $400.

where did you find this FPP kit for 400 with all that i would like to know

It's in what used to be called the "Motorsport" catalog. I don't have one handy but it's near the middle of the catalog. Once you get the part number, you can order it from Jegs and not have to pay shipping to get it to you. They may charge $10, because it's considered an oversize item. Still.....

OK. Here's the info. Ford part number- M-5400-A "1994-04 Mustang Handling Kit" Includes-better springs, bigger sway bars, and shocks/struts, tuned for the other parts. Jeg's sells it for about $100 less than Ford does. Lower's 94-98 cars 1" and 99-04 cars 3/4". Anyone using this kit? Oh yeah, page 143 in the 2006 Ford Racing catalog.

Welcome to the boards!

Actually, you can do the PIH conversion if you use a stand-alone trans controller. It seems to me that PMAS also offers their own conversion kit for AODE cars (for one stop shopping).

MHO is that for tuning an AODE car (especially), modifying your computer programming is a much better way to do it. A TwEECer allows a lot of trans control and a chip is also a real nice way to go (weight costs and the possibilities of all these things).

Good luck.
I agree 100 percent with JT...I spent $575.00 on a PIH kit......engine started to run better but trans stayed in 2nd gear( safety feature I've heard) Kit it not designed to work with AODE.....the new "pro M" is in Michigan and Chris is a good person to talk to...I don't have the site but peeps on here have it...
I agree with Shawn as well that the list of mods to begin with should not require tunes ..(I run 3:73's so I can't speak about the 4:10's and computer, just don't know) As JT said when you start to think H/C/I start to look at the SCT chip ( I have it and it cured my driveability issues) Grady and others swear by the tweecer r/t but you will have to do "some learning"......but either will take care of the EEC issues..........and welcome to :SNSign:
