Mole skin

I am planning to have door windows tinted and am interested in installing the mole skin before hand, but I have a few questions. Do you install the mole skin on both inside and out side locations. if installed on outside, how does it stand up to ice and snow? Also where can you buy this stuff, should a good window tinter be able to supply it ?
