More Fuel, More Power?

Will upgrading my fuel system such as MAF, injectors, fuel pump, and adding a fuel regulator help me out horsepower wise? Because when I was getting my car tuned they said my car was leaning out top end. I was just wondering if it was upgrading on a N/A motor.

if its leaning out then yes i would assume that would help a great deal up top and if its doing that i would def upgrade the fuel.

is it pinging up top or is the tune safe enough not too?

if a car is running lean adding more fuel will generally add more power (if tuned correctly). too much fuel though and you'll run out of air


the way i see it if you're going to spend all that money on a full fuel setup, might as well go F/I

No the tune is too safe for it to ping. Thats why my power is only at 277rwhp.

i would think the tuner would be able to tell you if you should be able to get more power if he could add more fuel...i dont know a whole lot but i bet if you post some A/F ratio graphs someone on this site could tell you if you need more fuel up top

Its not running lean anymore. Thats why i lost power cuz they had to bump down the timing by 6 degrees. Its safe to drive around daily but with less power.

If it was leaning out up top with your mods, and they couldn't correct it in the tune, then there is something wrong with one of the components you have. With the mods you have, you won't gain anything powerwise by upgrading your fuel system, but it sounds like yours may have some problems.

try some cheap maintenance items first like the fuel filter, etc. leaner, to a point, makes more power, but is bad for the internals because leaner burns hotter, IE melted pistons hotter, but it would take alot of lean to cause that. as long as the ecu can still pull enough timing to keep knock at bay, you are somewhat safe.

id get a fuel pump(SVT Focus) and the next size up injectors(24lb?) and get it retuned. with your mods, you are bringing more airflow to the motor, though somethings telling me the stock fuel system should be sufficient for it, but maybe not in this case.

Thanks. This is what i was planning on doing. I was just gonna change the fuel filter since its been on there since the factory. Then I was planning on getting new fuel injectors and fuel pump then re tune.
