Ok, it only took me 6 months to notice this, but has anyone else noticed that the larger cup holder actually goes deeper than meets the eye? There is a rubber piece that is easily removable which makes one of the cup holders much deeper. I noticed while cleaning them out. Too cool! This somewhat retracts my original opinion that the cup holders weren't deep enough to keep cups out of my arm's way.
Killer!

Funny you mention this today, I was cleaning the car and did the cup holders. During the process I thought that the bottom felt loose??? And low and behold the bottom comes out, cool.

i wasn't sure what u guys were talking about, I mean u have to see it to belive it, so i checked it out today and i started smiling, because i hate putting bottles or cans over there because i like to have my elbow on the arm rest and my hand on the gear, now this is a surprise, I was going to make a round piece of plastic to cover that so its easer to clean the plastic only but now i don't,

Whats the fun in reading the manual, plus i never read the manual unless i need to know about something, like how to disable the beltminder thingy, or why the passenger airbag is not working when a kid is in the seat etc...

<< Funny you mention this. My dad ALWAYS made me read the manuals. Car, clock radio, VCR, TV - didn't matter. And I am glad he did. It has paid off many times. I must admit, that I did read the Owner's Manual, but had no idea about the cup holder though. I will have to check that out later this morning.

read your manual. it's easy

turn you key on (don't start the car)
wait for the seatbelt light to shut off (about 1 minute).
as soon as it shuts...buckle and unbuckle your belt 9 times, end with it UNBUCKLED.

you will see the AIRBAG light flash...then buckle and unbuckle one more time.
your done for one seat
then start the car....shut if off.....repeat for the passenger seat.

Someone must buckler their seat belt prior to starting the engine EVERY time or doesn't drive for more than 1 minute with it unbuckled. The Seat Belt has a warning sound that sounds like something is ready to detonate. LOL. It reminds the driver that their or their passanger's seat belt is not connected. Some of our friends still don't like to buckle up and would like to bypass the safety warning sound. To each his own.

But this always leaves me to thinking; why doesn't Ford care if someone is in the backseat and not buckled in? If my child is back there unbelted, reaching for a dropped hot wheel, it would be nice to know. I wonder why Ford doesn't care about my rear seat passangers as much as my front seat passanger?
