I am about to install a set of Moroso Drag front and rear springs. They are about 3" taller than my stockers unsprung. I am thinking 1 and 1/2 coils, does this sound good?

My buddy put some on his camaro, I could almost get my noggin between the tire and wheel well, and that is with drop spindles. He cut 1.5 coils and it put him just where he needed to be.

actully, i would only do a 1/2. i have them, and while its a tad high, i like the agressive looks that it gives off. will attach pics if you want to see. stock springs in the front for now.

I cut 2 coils out of mine. But if I had to do it again,, proabaly would do 1.5 to 1.75. Here is the way it sits with 2 coils out...

Never cut coil springs, especially on a street car.

these springs are acutally meant to be cut depending on the application. Moroso even says to cut them until you get the desired ride height. I cut mine 2 coils but i wish i only cut 1.5, it sits a bit low in the front.

Thanks for the input, I think I will go with 1.5 coils. I want it to sit lower but not slammed at all.

I have those in back. I would not cut them. They made the car all jacked up at first, but after a trip around the block it settled alot. I waited till it was on the ground to tighten the LCA bolts too. I carry about 250lbs in my trunk at all times also. Its been a while since I pulled all that stuff out and went to the track. It had a 3-4" wheel well gap with a stock tire height. With all the stuff in my trunk, it sits level. Almost no wheel gap, so I am happy. Look in my sig for what I have in front, it still wont launch for crap. I am pissed, $1200 for suspension and it went slower, 60' times are higher Screw this POS!

I only have them only on the front,, and have stock rear springs with Lakewood lift bars, and my front sits just a tad lower than the back when the car settles. When driving it stays about level.

check the link in my sig. Moroso springs all around. Front cut 2 coils. DO NOT cut the rear springs at all. They are not meant to be cut. Only the fronts are. The rear sat a little high when i first installed them but then it settled down.

stock height morosos in the rear....kinda unlevel driveway with bald tires...which doesnt help the gap...stock springs up front.

This is going to RULE

Maby I will go 2 coils, I guess I will see how I feel tomorow. I don't daily drive it or anything, but don't want the longtubes to drag either. I have QA1 C/C plates comming my way to take care of any alignment issues. I am so tired of hearing "why does it sit so high up front" and "sitting kinda high".

I cut 1.5 coils and am using a coil spring compressor. I am not putting the isolators or the rubber boot back on the spring, so it may lower it like it had 2 coils cut. I don't have it all in because I am always lacking a tool or something. This front end rebuild is becomming a real PITA for that reason.

BTW: How firm/soft are these springs compared to stock once in the car? My buddy put the moroso springs in his Camaro and another buddy did the Eibach drag springs. The moroso's seem firmer but seems to transfer weight better. I wonder if it is the same with a stang.

I didn't really notice a difference during normal drivin. But under hard acceleration the front does lift and it does get a bit scary around corners at a moderate speed.. Especially if you aren't runny a sway bar...

This how the expand at the track..This is with stock struts & shocks..

Notice how low the front is when power is applied at them...

Thanks for all your help.

I can't install them. They are so long you have to compress them so much to get them in, and then the tool I am using doesn't work right thanks to ford's great engineering the hole where the rod of the compressor goes through the controll arm is way too small, I can't turn the nut, and if I jack the controll arm to where it is straight through, the whole car lifts up. I've never had this much trouble trying to install a stupid coil spring. Maby I will just try some more but coil-over's will be so much easier.
