Hi all, im posting this for a friend. Dont know much about 4.6s but he has a 98 GT and wants it to be faster.

I was wondering what the most cost efficient way to supercharge it would be? Could you use an 03 blower on a 98? or maybe a different OE supercharger? If not, who has a good roots kit for the 98? Just kenne bell? Those seem pricey.

Well any help would be great. Thanks

Saleen also offers a twin screw and roots style blower for the 4.6. Another option would be a centrifugal blower. The '03 Cobra blower wouldn't work very easily I don't think as it is designed for a 4V engine. The best options for a 4.6 are Vortech, Paxton, Procharger, and Kenne Bell. All are going to run around $3k - $4,500 depending on options, then you need to pay for a dyno tune.

Another alternative - and my reccomendation FRPP S/C

The most inexpensive S/C is a used one.

A new M90 {roots style} from FORD would be a good S/C to buy. The kit is complete and the price is pretty good. Some shops online are selling it for under $3K. It fits like OEM and lasts better than OEM. ;)

I've run this kit for some time. CAUTION: If you're lookng for gaudy 400+rwhp numbers then look elsewhere.
>6lbs pulley (stock) will net you 280-295rwhp ---- on avg on a light to un-modded car
>9lbs pulley willnet you 290-315 ---- on avg on a lightly modded car
Remember results will be dependent on the health of the car beforehand.

Good luck.

A used Vortech S trim could be found real cheap. Roots styles usually cost a bit more. Plus blowers off stock cars usually have the intake ports and runners specifically made for that type of motor. A 03 blower will not work on any SOHC unless you make your own parts.

Also check out www.allenengine.com/96must1.html they have a nice 9psi intercooled kit. Uses Eaton blower.

6psi makes 257hp and 302 ft/lbs at the wheels.

This guy http://home.att.net/~jroal/jay/aedgt3.htm uses the Allen kit with some other parts and gets about 290 hp and 335 ft/lbs with an automatic at 6-7 psi. Non PI heads too.

While peak numbers aren't that great compared to a Vortech/Paxton/Pro Charger setup, the torque is incredible and it's everywhere in the usable range. Car will feel like a big block muscle car.
