motor removal

Everyone who has removed and engine come in!!!

My question is where is the proper place to attach in order to remove and put in the engine with a cherry picker..friend who owns it says best to remove two bolts from lower manifold to heads and use L shaped bracket from these bolts to the cherry picker. My concearn is will the weight be too much for the bolts which are now torqued into my new Edelbrock heads? What have you guys used as a mounting location for removal points?? Buddy says all will be fine and not to worry, but I worry cause the investment is large and I have visions of the bolts leaving my new heads in a very bad way.

I bought an intake plate from Summit for like $50.00. I did not feel like messing with chains and stuff, JMO. It bolts to the lower intake with like 6 bolts, but I only used 4 and when I pulled the motor, I pulled the tranny with it all together. That thing is plenty secure.

nah you will be fine summit sells a plate for the lower intake manifolds of our 5.0s that bolts up with like 4 or 5 bolts that is what i used to pull mine out.
