Motor Swap Advise Needed

I have a 98 Mustang GT 4.6, will need to replace, bad motor. Will a 97 Mustang GT 4.6 swap out ok? Is there a difference in horse power?

I have also found 2001 4.6 off a crown vic police interceptor would this swap ok? Crown Vic motor also has automatic trans, is the same automatic that came with 98 4.6 Mustang GT?

Your best bet it to find a 01+ GT engine, and just swap the fuel rails over, but the 97 GT motor will plug right in

A 99+ 4.6 from a Mustang GT will be PI (performance improved) out of the chute, so you won't have a newer motor that is lacking power.
