Can 5.0 motor be pulled easily with the tranny (T-5) still attached? I've pulled alot of motors and some come out slick and quick this way. Other times (3rd gen Camaros come to mind) I feel like "oh @#$%! why did I do it that way?." I'm pulling both because I want to clean up the tranny and tunnel area when I drop in my new motor. Thanks for any advice.

I have never done it personally. But I have seen pictures of people pulling both out at the same time here on Stang net.

I mean if you remove the rad and unhook everything than you should be good..

Also, a load leveler is well worth the money. Simply turning the handle will tilt the motor so you don't have to lift it over the front end, and will help get the shifter clear of the tunnel and firewall.

I went to a junk yard and picked up 2 more of the stock engine lift brackets that bolt to the stock exhaust manifold. Using 4 of them makes things more stable and cuts the load seen by each corner. I never have tried to use the intake lift plates, it seemed cheaper and easier and safer to buy the 2 extra stock lift brackets.jason

Let me know how big my text is when you read this, I have had complaints that it was too small.

lots of good ideas here. The load leveler is by far the best though. Those things go by a number of names but I know specifically what was meant by it. Also, it helps to have the car lifted off the ground a little. Sometimes the end of the tranny hits the ground [when you're hoisting it out] otherwise.
