Whats the deal with threads moving? The PS3 thread and now the Pats / Chargers thread got moved to the Banana Hammock Republic. I understand that its a sports related forum, however, we have a talk forum here so I don't see whats wrong with shooting the breeze about whatever we want.

I post talk stuff here because I like you guys, I feel like I know you guys, I don't want to hang out in the Banana Hammock Republic. I haven't even owned a mustang for 8 months but I still like to hang out in this section and offer my occasionally worthwhile advice and experience.

Am I out of line? What exactly are we allowed to talk about in the 94-95 talk section?

Confused Adam

Yeah, it'd be nice to keep our own talk threads in our own talk place... Bananna hammock republic is a whole different country.

Send a pm to the Mod that moved the threads. If you do not know who moved them, pm the Mods of this forum. They will be more than happy to help you.

To be honest, guys, I bet the Staff is just trying to keep things where they are perceived as needing housed, in an effort to keep topics and discussions where more people are exposed to them, due to focal subject areas.

If you do not want a thread moved, you might politely state in your post to NOT have the thread relocated, due to the reasons you describe above--which are of merit.

How's this sound?

That was my first thought yesterday...

"Where is the Chargers thread?"

I even searched for it, and started reading it and lost interest.

I am sure the mods will help here Adam.

I'm inclined to agree, as nicely as possible. Sure, it may only take a couple of clicks to head on over there, but I also very much so like the crowd of guys we have in here.

It is only a small number of threads that seem to be moved, but could we make a request for our part of the forum to keep things in the talk section? That would be appreciated

I'm sad. Some days I find myself refreshing my browser every 30 seconds waiting for someone to put up a thread or a reply that I can read or reply to.

I agree guys and I never move threads from here to other sections of the site because I know that when something is posted here it is meant to be shared with your fellow 94-95 brotheren, even if its not 94-95 specific. I tried to move the chargers thread back, but since I'm not a mod in the section in which it was moved, I can't move it back. I'll PM a mod in that section with a request to send it back here though.

Sorry guys, I can't claim responsibility for some of the recent moves myself, save for a couple video threads I did send off to Moving Pictures. I'll also shoot a PM to a couple other moderators to see about keeping stuff intact in our quiet little section!

Our section should pick back up again soon, once warm weather returns. Not too many people working on their cars in the cold.

Edit: I posted a thread in the Staff Only forum to see if we can keep our threads.

i, too, prefer that threads started here remain here for the valid (i think) reasons mentioned above. although, as an admin an our local forum, i understand about wanting to keep things nice and tidey.

Well said by all.

I also like seeing the stuff stay in-house because I care what y'all think. If a thread was titled ABC in here, I'd read it. I would probably pass up the same thread in another sub-forum because I don't know the folks or care what's going on with them or their cars.

I have a hard time with a lot of the useless-rambling threads in the other OT/Talk regions.

Threads get much more attention when they are moved to topic specific sections. I had not been coming in here for awhile and I didnt even know that PS3 thread was here until I did b/c It was not in the gaming section. Theres not much point in having a gaming section and sports section if related threads are not put there. How much traffic would the chargers thread get in here compared to an entire sports section?

I agree, but... some guys don't head outside of this particular area, so they don't see the threads, or even know the subforums exist inside of forums in other areas.

I probably moved at least one, if not both of those threads and for legitimate reason.....so get ready to hate!

And just so you guys know, The Sports Bar and Game Central are also "Talk Forums". With the amount of gamers and sports buff's we've got on the site, Administration felt it was a good idea to create dedicated a section to you guys for that specific purpose. I really don’t see the problem here?

I mean…if someone wants to see and talk sports, or gaming, then you know exactly where to look for them. Who honestly cares if it’s not in a model specific talk forum, or that not everyone in the ‘94-’95 Talk section is going to see it when looking through threads? If someone wants to talk sports, they know where to look for it. To everyone else, it’s just another thread to skim over and ignore.

I mean honestly.....how lazy does someone have to be that they can’t click on a topic specific forum because they’re afraid to leave the comfort of their own area? Maybe it's time a few of you explored the rest of the board a little?

You can bet if post count was awarded for those sections, we wouldn't be hearing a peep out of anybody right now.
