Will I pass emissions with my mods? Seems I'm finding that i'll have to put in my factory H-pipe at least?

Flowmaster 40s, 3.73 gears, Diablo chip, Accufab 70mm tb & p, Steeda pulleys, BBK Long-tube Headers & H-pipe, JLT true CAI, Flowmaster 3 1/2" stainless steel tips.

Thanks!

You will have to find a shop that wont care about the visual, but if you get a catted midpipe for LT's, you should be able to pass the sniffer with a stock tune. I know of a certain 03 Mach 1 that passed with LT's & a mac catted H. But, if you dont have a good connection, you will have to put the car back to stock. As far as I know, none of your engine mods (cold air/plenum/TB) are 50 state legal?

Where in Cali are you moving to?

My H-pipe is catted. And stock tune can be restored, so that's good.

I'm not sure exactly where in Cali I'm moving to yet..it's still in future plans, few months at least. Just wanting to plan ahead if I need. Most likely though southern cali area.
I have always passed visual and emissions in NC, and emissions in AZ...not as strict as CA i'm guessing though.

Cali is the strictest of all the states when it comes to emissions. If you were moving to northern California, I would be able to help you out, but since you are moving to SoCal, Im sure 1 of our SoCal members will chime in with some help.... Good Luck

I do have an o/r midpipe, but I installed a catted 1 for smog purposes. The cats on the Mac catted h were so crappy that I barely passed with it installed even though the cats are pretty much brand new. Catco cats FTL

But the good news is, Cali smog testing is only every 2 years, so once you get it done when you move here, you have 2 years until u have to do it again...

We only have to somg every two years. Any performance part on your engine has to have a C.A.R.B. number on it for it to pass in Cali. Steeda pulleys, Accufab throttle bodys, JLT intakes, the chip, and the headers and x-pipe don't have one. The chip will pass cause no smog tech will ever check the computer for a chip. So pretty much everything has to go unless you pay someone for a fake one. I have to swap my stock exhaust back on every time I have to smog.

This is an inspection manual for the smog test centers to follow in California, some helpful info. http://www.bar.ca.gov/80_BARResources/05_Legislative/RegulatoryActions/Smog%20Check%20Manual%20w-diesel%208-09%20V3.pdf Also a friend of mine had a car without cats and aftermarket exhaust in Cali that he paid a guy at a shop $100 to pass his car. All he did was put in the info for his car and then test a different car that he knows will pass and then print out the results for your car. I can try to find out what shop he went to. Here is another site with some other info. Bureau of Automotive Repair, State of California, Dept. of Consumer Affairs

100 bucks is a deal. Everyone I have met cruising or at the races is around 300. There is a friend of a friend who I can mail my smog/registration papers to who will do it for 150. I just swap everything, saves me some cash.
