I have a CD player in my car but I want to get an MP3/CD player for my '93 LX. I would also like it to be able to have a jack for a Dell DJ (similar to IPod). I've been searching websites (Crutchfield, Best Buy, etc.) but don't really know what is good and what is not. So any help would be great.
FYI - I don't plan on upgrading any other component of my stereo.

I would like to stay with a name brand (Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, etc.) but all of their products that have the features I want are above my price limit (which is $150). Would you recommend spending a few extra bucks as opposed to buying a generic brand (Dual, Insignia) with all the features for cheaper?

Dual is a very good brand as far as quality and features.Let me give you a history on Dual, its owneed by one of the largest manufacturers in Korea(theres only 3 or 4)Namsung is the maker and they make for all the big names you mentioned, but wanted a line of their own,so they made X-file(which I worked for) and Dual which is based out of Florida.

If you werent so far away I would say send me a check for about $200 + shipping( I buy at wholesale prices) and i would ship you one(name brand) :)

Personally I"ve noticed that the Alpine's seem to have better tracking than the Pioneer's. I've got disc's at work that will skip(slightly) in the Pioneer but read clean through in an Alpine but honestly, both are great. If it were me-the Alpine CDE-9843 with the kce420 input adaptor shoudl be really really close to your price range.
