I'm building up my non-HO motor to better-than-HO-motor specs (e303, 70mm MAF and TB, 3.5" Powerpipe, Explorer intake, mildly ported E7s, Exhaust, but stock headers) and I was wondering, what kind of fuel economy could I expect when I changed the gears? It's gonna have to wait a bit, and the gears that I get are almost certainly gonna be 3.55s or 3.73s (turbo coupe rear-end swap). I think I was getting close to 24 mpg or so (was non-HO with 14 lb. injectors!), but have no real idea as the fuel gauge never worked and I never bothered to write the exact numbers down.

Anyone have something close to the setup that I described? What kind of Economy are you getting?

I get about 19-20 with the 3:55 gears in my car. If you get much over 55mph it`ll suck gas but just for normal driving they are great!

I get about 18-22 mpg but i have 3.27 gears and drive 44 miles one way to work everyday. i have a friend getting about the same with 3.55s and he has about everything done that you can bolt on to it.

hope this helps a little bit.

I was still seeing 16 with the blower and 3.73's if I drove nice.

Gas mileage is going to depend mainly on your commute (highway vs. city) and your right foot.

With mods in sig, running 75% highway mileage, I got 23 mpg. Since I've changed jobs, my daily drive involves zero highway mileage. I'm now getting 19 mpg.

As long as you keep the car in good tune, 3.73's should not "kill" your mileage with the engine setup you listed.

My Saleen, bone stock except for 3.55's installed by Saleen and 25,000 miles, gets just about 20 on the highway. My LX, with 3.73's and lots to mods and 100k +, gets about 17.
