MSD distributor..Will it work on my car?

My buddy has an MSD Pro Billet distributor and coil he put like 1,000 miles on which he had on his 87 GT mustang...He sold his car and he said i can have them both for free but i dont know if they will work on my car...?? Anybody know whether or not it will?
